Final Resting Place

Well, I got a call from the funeral home that my aunt’s ashes arrived at the cemetery in which they will be buried (with my grandparents). Kind of a “final” feeling, for it truly is her final resting place. From the hospital, to the morgue, to the funeral home, to the crematorium, then shipped to the cemetery. And during the course of her life, she moved around a lot as well. So now she is back in the city she was born in. I’m sure she’d find it at least ironic.

On a “home” note, my son appears to have taken the news that he had to go to summer school well. No arguments and no “whatevers”. He did say he “didn’t know why he failed English”. Anyhow, he almost seems to be looking forward to summer school (he said, “Well, I have nothing else going on.”). He chose the late morning session (which is probably better for his teenage brain), which is a smaller class size (15). And it’s with his 9th grade English teacher! He told me that he was going to make it the “best day ever”; I said, “Well, it may not be the best day ever (after all, it is school, I’m thinking), but make the most of it.”

Did I say my co-worker was back from medical leave? She had a back operation & is now well enough to come to work. I’m very glad. We’re like our own support group! Plus I couldn’t stand the temp.
