MOVIE: THE DEVIL MAKES THREE, 1952 with Pier Angeli and Gene Kelly (Pier was engaged to James Dean before he died in real life)
Filmed in Europe, the last part - filmed inside the ruins of Hitler's house just before its final demolition (this alone makes the movie worth watching) always more interesting when filmed on location(s), which it was - a lot of it is beautiful.
its about "... secret ties to an underground Nazi revivalist movement, a new nazi government, a new hitler - the metal of the car they rent is made of the hidden gold to fund the new nazi movement just after the end of the war.
The climax of the picture takes place in Berchtesgaden, and the scenes of the new hitler being chased through the rubble were filmed inside the ruins of Hitler's house just before its final demolition by the German government. ... in the scene's final frame stands facing his captors in the notorious huge picture window of the house.
so its fascinating because of the ancient european shots from 1952 and Hitler's house which you can't sight see anymore because its destroyed. stayed up until 5:30 a.m. watching it. never heard of this movie and then left before the end of it anyway because i was getting too tired. lol. the woman in the movie, is the woman that broke james dean's heart in real life, and both had a lot of tragedy in their lives in all relationships afterward and died accidentally and at young ages. they were better off together. she is featured in a couple of biographical movies about james dean.
wonder if the movie is based on anything factual?
i'm still battling this flu/cold and still tired and grouchy from it. grrrr. went to see the torti cat that showed up as a stray near the road, where supposedly it was lost at? its not the same cat. did find a bunch of sweaters for the dogs on clearance up there unexpectedly. fabulous find, hope some of them fit.
finally, warmer today, beautiful outside and sunny. its 55 now and its night. shopped for supplies and went to star bucks with j for dark roast coffee and cream. one tall coffee (small really, but they call it tall) is $1.92 with tax, but you get two coffees out of it because i like one on a cup of ice. so far i only like their regular coffee anyway. went to heavenly ham for lunch and got two roast beef on croissant sandwiches for the price of one. they are offering a survey and if you answer the survey you get two sandwiches as a bogo. they are actually cheaper than mcd's, and their food is quality - even their box lunch special is cheaper than a meal at mcd's. fast food needs to lower their prices if they have become more expensive than restaurants and they have.
had dinner at k's. we had barbequed pork, onion rings and potatoes, broccoli and salad, mango margueritas with vodka and spiced rum and cherries in them and coffee. saw criminal minds and forensic files. one was about a doctor who put a tube with old blood of someone else's in his arm so when his blood was drawn it wouldn't match the dna of multiple crimes. it took seven years for the police to figure it out and then took blood from his finger as a blood draw and all the dna matched. also saw international real estate, a young girl was attending college in Stockholm and buying a small condo for $475,000. hmmm, how much is $475,000 today, can't even tell anymore. that'd be like buying real estate in the nyc area or los angeles etc. - a tiny house for $475,000 because the price of land is sooooo high in areas like that and so is the yearly propery tax.
my back is bothering me a lot again - probably from stress or the cold setting it off. lots of pain. the stress is mostly from our payroll being screwed up and the bad weather. they switched payroll companies and everyone's money is delayed without warning. everyone is freaking out and should. i don't blame them. if they live paycheck to paycheck and most people do (unless they are thieves and i don't even want to try to figure out the things thieves do), if the pay is late and they have to pay credit cards late, they will be fined $30 on each card for being late, if you have five or ten cards, i hope our company plans on reimbursing each person that couple of hundred dollars. badly done. shameful really. the only thing worse than that is a company that steals paychecks from their employees. have seen that as well, mostly in south florida and tunick. revolting. people like that make you vomit.

When I started my first job in Miami, I had to wait a month before I got my first check, and it was just for the few days I worked before the new pay period. Luckily I still had money and could afford to wait, but if I was broke I would have been screwed. I hope your payroll gets worked out soon!
i think the payroll will be a mess for a month. they have the guy\'s check, but they were supposed to supply by hand direct deposit forms as well. you know the pay card system they have is the one they want to use to replace cash. don\'t think it will work. what a disaster.
