filet mignon with j//dinner at k's//kitten is sick//i have a cold or flu?

cold or flu? is mostly gone and i can't gauge my mood because i know there is a cold/flu in there.
weather is great. 82 today, sunny and dryish.
one of the kittens is sick and i have her on doxycycline with interferon. she seems to be improving a LOT from taking it. the other kittie, that she got it from, didn't need anything to get over it. rescue is always harder if its colder out. same as me, i get the slightest chill and i start feeling ill. i need to dress warm and have the heat on and socks on right away. i start to panic if its cold at all and wish i was in the keys.
got k's flame point rescue to eat FINALLY but it will only eat if the food is high up. it must come from a house with dogs. i haven't checked on it since i was over there. i brought it fancy feast and put out a bowl of dry food and it went nuts for it, but didn't finish it? rn thinks its refusing food because of living through a month of turmoil. m called the previous owner to find out what kind of food it was on before and they never called back?
drank peach smoothies - which has become "the old stand-by" (i love peach smoothies and actually found those at the hope store sometime earlier this year). was drinking them at k's with a lot of gin and getting drunk monday because i was upset about the siamese kittens with mange that the pound killed for no real reason, since i OFFERED to take them!
we had 3 bean salad, chicken and butternut squash (which was fabulous) for dinner, he says you can just put the squash in the microwave and it will come out like that. k painted the leather on his sofa, however you do that and moved the electric piano to that side of the den. the landscaping is also rearranged outside and it looks great.
had grilled filet mignon with j, all good lately.
just finished reading "the road taken" by rona jaffe - i discovered i need large print or a hard cover, i kept putting off reading it because i was having trouble seeing the print. the book spans one family from 1900 to 2000 - 100 years. quite a span and its cool the way she writes it. each section of time has a page or so of current events of that time. reminds me of the movie, the 60's with julia stiles but much longer. and then whatever happened with her family or people she knew as far as the current events go. and then being rona jaffe a lot of sarcasm. she's usually pretty funny. she is the one who wrote class reunion, which EVERYONE reads at some point.
discovered if i even think of bringing a computer or tv into the house down south i get an anxiety attack just from thinking of that. wow! lol. way more relaxing without it.
spent the morning lounging on the deck in the sun and then talking to the guy for a long time, who is going to do the light. i have to decide on a light. also discovered i prefer the dark and only miss a light for reading at night. he seems to really know what he is talking about. also janm called to see if i wanted to hire her or gordm. so funny. they used to be managers of all these properties. several years ago he was offering ME work. he had open heart surgery and now a knee replacement - amazing he is still working.

I could absolutely live without a TV. I need the computer because I use it for journaling and DS....but no social media, or downloading movies for me. I have a radio for music in my room. I need peace and quiet in my life, I remember, as a kid, our TV watching was very limited. My parents wouldn\'t have it. They wanted us outside playing till the lights came on, then homework, then bed. We only watched cartoons on Sat. mornings. I can only imagine what parents must go through now with all the junk on the television. I wouldn\'t want a young\'um to watch most of this crap. I\'d have a panic attack too!!!
I\'m so sorry about what happened to those kittens at the pound. Getting drunk won\'t do anything but give you a headache, but I sure do understand that you are hurt and miserably stressed by their actions.
You have such a wonderful heart for rescue!! You really do!
yeah, i know. they say getting drunk won\'t bring you answers, it only makes you forget the questions. so true.
we were limited to one hour of tv and i attempted the same with js, but her grandmother didn\'t...so that is another soap opera since she used to be with her grandmother/\"father\" 4 days per week except holidays and vacations. lots of no, don\'t even have cable, kind of thing - not quite true. she had the 20 channels for 20 dollars thing, back then it was less than 10 dollars. i like that one as well, except it doesn\'t have mtv or vh1 but its still more than 5 basic channels like it was pre-cable, in the early 70\'s -- hard to recall that, even though i\'m positive its a healthier life that way. lol.
*hugs* I\'m so sorry to hear about the kittens being put down. I wish that I could do something in my area to prevent shelters from killing animals, but Geo has a strict one-pet rule. Angela (cat) is such a sweetheart. She was a rescue, too. She spent the first year of her life in a tiny cage. Now she gets to run all over the house and is a happy kitty.

i rather read too janie. i\'m unplugged at the house down south. no cable, no internet. i go out on my deck and read. or i read in front of my favorite window or the garden room or timeshare loungechairs in front of the ocean. yay! so much better!
