Fighting this old body!
Gee, I'm sure I'm past my "use by" date! First thing in the morning I open my eyes - but they are dry and gritty. Roll over and put my feet on the floor - back screams at me. Get hold of the dresser and make my way to the bathroom. Grab the facecloth and then the eyedrops - ah that's better.
Go let my old and sick dog out. Sometimes lately she hasn't made it, but took advantage of the pad on the floor. Clean it up. Turn on the TV, check out who has been shot or beaten overnight. What disasters may be impending.
Get the coffee perking. Check the blood sugar. Take the insulin. Get some juice and take the breakfast pills - all ten of them! Make my DH's oatmeal and my slice of whole wheat toast. Spritz on some fake butter and a dab of strawberry jam. Pour my black coffee. If this is a day I can walk I go out for the newspaper.
Today was a bad day for DH. Lots of pain from his spinal cord injury, Myasthenia Gravis and osteoarthritis. He had a long afternoon nap and went to bed at 6pm. I dragged three of my five bags of mulch out of the car, pulled weeds and spread a weed barrier and the mulch. Forgot to wear my back support. Got wiped out. Sitting with my feet up on my laptop and the pain is moderate. I can only imagine what tomorrow will be. I usually pay in triplicate the next day after doing something stupid.
I'm looking forward to Sunday. I always invite guest in. Since my son isn't speaking to me this week it will just be my neighbor. Gonna make turkey ham, sweet potatoes, a veggie and deep dish apple pie - be still my conscience! Kitchen work kills my back, but having company makes up for it. But right now there is the fact that I didn't get my cleaning done today as planned, so will have to do as much as possible before the kitchen work.
Florida weather 90s in the daytime, 70's overnight. Can't remember when we saw rain last. I give my poor plants and drink every day or two. They are surviving so far.
I got five nice pix from a friend and turned them into a slideshow, which I've posted on my Facebook page. If you aren't a friend there you can see the slideshow here:
