Fight Like a Girl

Sept 15th my life was changed~ I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I had my my first surgery October 6th which turned out to be unsuccessful in removing all cancer. On November 9th I will undergo a Bilateral Masectomy with recontructive surgery and following - Chemotherapy. In a little over a months time I have a new view of that "little pink ribbon". Yes, it's been everywhere this month, like it is every year... out there for the world to see, but I never really "seen" it as I do now. What it really stands for, you don't know until it stands for "you" or a loved one. Those yellow ribbons hanging on trees, now so tattered and torn representing soldiers who are away fighting for our country.. Yes, I've seen them, I pass them.. but you don't know what that ribbon means util its for you or your son or daughter who is away at war, or who didnt make it home. My view has changed of the needs of the world, not just Breast Cancer although it has opened my eyes in a greater way. But all needs .. We need to do our part , no matter how small we think it might be.. Collectively it brings change and hope. Thanks to all my friends and family for their prayers, love and support. This journey has just begun.. but I'm going to make it a positive one! ~ Fight LIke a Girl!
