You have heaps more room, its secure, dust and waterproof and accessing gear is so much better. If you want a Ute Canopy Review of this unit, its brilliant. Whilst I would have loved to get a Norweld tray and canopy that looks absolutely fantastic, I ended up with a boring looking service vehicle canopy. This means that the competition is fierce, and that there are some dramatic variations in quality coming out. You can buy a cheap imported aluminium gull wing canopy for $2000, or a top end one for $25,000 (with no internal fit-out). If you have a basic, custom build canopy with box section inside you have much less option when it comes to moving things around.
Retro fitted the full canopy onto the standard box unicorn tray, we removed the front bar and it required a rubber packer to sit flat. It looks and works great, would certainly recommend and use again for future vehicles. While this very much comes down to personal preference, we may be able to give a little guidance that helps you make a decision. If you need to carry your tools or outdoor equipment in a highly organised manner and feel that they will all fit inside a full canopy, then that may be the better option.
