fewer things to take care of.

I was reading someones' post earlier and part of it was about how stuff, like their belongings started to quit working or break and need repairs or replacements.  Well, I could so relate to that !  Not long after my husband passed away, my dryer quit, then my heat & air unit went out, my car (2013) air quit working and needed some kind of replacement part, plus I had a bent rem on one of my  "custom" rems, my home owners' ins. became due for that month.  I'm sure I've forgot something,  this is just right off the top of my head.  These were thousands of dollars of expenses.  I was so thankful that we had savings and a CD that I could rely on !!!!  WELL, this morning my son came in to tell me that something had gotten & killed all of my chickens except one baby chick !! I was trying to find someone to give them to because they were mainly for my husband who loved fresh country eggs.  I don't care for them and neither do any of my kids.  Oh, it made me sad, but it was my fault for not making sure they were pinned up.  I just am so mad abt. it, I'm pretty sure it was a racoon because we do have alot of them around here. I guess I may as well get used to living my life by Murphy's Law, and realize that if anything bad can happen, then it probably will.  Finally coming to realize that I need to not take anything for granted like I have been, I know better, that's the sad part !!!!! I need to snap-out-of-it and start trying a little harder.  Just because I am in sorrow doesn't give me the privelage of letting things go.!

I had a bunch of things break down a couple of months ago. I spent the weekend feeling sorry for myself and totally blank about how to go about fixing, buying etc. Since i had always made most of the financial decisions it didn\'t make much sense. Don\'t be too hard on yourself. You had a partner to help with the fixing now it is you. It is so hard to remember everything when we are grieving. That seems to take up most of our energy. Ruthann, I think my husband and I lived 40 years with Murphy\'s Law! ha ha, seems like something was always going wrong. But I guess that\'s all part of life whether they are here or not. Due to my husband\'s lenghty illness everything inside and outside has fallen apart, and since his passing I have been too exhausted to deal with any of it. But, I know that has to change. I have decided that I have to get these things taken care of! I guess I can cry and do yardwork etc. at the same time. Not like I have a ton of people wanting to rush in and do it for me. Sorry about your chickens, but don\'t beat yourself up! You are grieving and it is exhausting and our minds aren\'t working the same as before Hugs to you, Michele
