FET on Monday
FET is scheduled for Monday late morning. I'm a bit bummed since this means DH will not be going with me, and I will be there alone. I was really, really hoping for a Sunday transfer, but of course this is all out of my control. Now I need to come up with a good excuse for missing yet another day of work and telling my boss about IVF is not an option. I won't be taking estrace since I am too sensitive to estrogen and do not want to risk any problems with my liver again, but I start taking progesterone suppositories tonight - twice a day and if I get a BFP, twice a day for 10 weeks. Is this standard protocol?! And you have to lie down for 20-30 minutes afterwards each time? So this means waking up a half hour early to lie there while the progesterone works its magic. Ugh, IF, you are such a cruel bastard in so many ways.
So for those of you who have gone through an FET, what can I expect? Did you have any discomfort or pain during or after the procedure? Oh, and get this, my least favorite RE will be the one doing my FET. Ugh.

Ugh, so sorry the timing did not work out and that your least favorite RE is doing it! Bumer! I have never heard of having to lay down after putting in a progesterone suppository but then again I had to do PIO for IVF. I would just keep them next to your bed and not even actually get up. Also, I would get panty liners! They are your friends with suppositories. When I had my transfer for IVF I had some cramping that day, but not a lot. Have you had an IUI? Its basically just like that. Other than having a full bladder is no fun! Good luck!
Thanks for the tips, LMWT! My clinic doesn\'t do full bladder transfers! :) I\'ve had 3 IUIs and I\'m figuring the FET is a lot like that so that\'s good to know.
I pray that this will do the trick for you and you won\'t have to go through any more of this ever again. Sorry DH can\'t be there and the weird RE is doing the procedure. You never know, sometimes when things are not working out as we would like them to, something amazing happens. Good luck! xo
I hope an extra day is good news that your embryos are strong. Sorry for the inconvenience but I hope it\'s all worth it! IDK about progesterone suppositories. I did them for preterm labor last year and the crinone was really sticky in there so I didn\'t have to worry about it coming out. I can\'t imagine putting it in laying down though.
I had progesterone once, twice than 3 times a day with bfp 1, 2 and 3. You nred liners but I don\'t see a point with bed rest. They leak once your body heat makes them melt in my mind. 20 to 30 min wouln\'t have made a difference for me.
As to what to expect, I think it\'s the same as a fresh cycle. It\'s easier then when they take the eggs out unless access is hard, my case. It\'s a fast process. Try not to worry.
We\'ll all be thinking of you.
Sorry about the timing and the RE that you don\'t like.
The transfer shouldn\'t hurt. You may have some cramping after that is normal. Usually the PIO shots or suppositories are used. This is normal. The suppositories are messy and uncomfortable but hopefully they will work and you will soon have your BFP!!!!
I\'ve never been through any of this, but I hope this change of schedule ends up for the better. I completely get wanting DH to be at your side, but he was supposed too when you just got to BD and get pregnant and be done with this circus! I\'m sorry timing isn\'t going to work out, but you\'re right, IF is a bitch that runs on her own schedule!
Sending some Canadian love your way :)
Good luck on Monday!!!! Transfers don\'t hurt at all. The worst part is the full bladder, that\'s definitely rough, lol. My RE usually puts me on progesterone suppositories twice and day as well as oral progesterone. I prefer it to PIO shots, those terrify me!
Sorry your husband won\'t be there with you Monday, but like you said its out of your hands. You can do it!
Hoping this is the ONE!
Very best of luck to you .. :)
i dont see point in bed rest either, i did it for my first day this time round - and went back to normal life, infact i was dancing on the day of my transfer this round, and ive got a bfp (last time i was in bed for 3 days)
im on p- three times a day 400 supps and im on estrogen white tablets under the tounge 3 times a day also.
my first ivf - i was bursting for toilet after transfer i got up about 15 mins, this time i lay there and suffered for 30 mins,
wishing you the very best
