Fenben Lab Fenbendazol

Fenben lab fenbendazol is a broad-spectrum benzimidazole carbamate anthelmintic that has been safely used in veterinary medicine and human patients for approximately six decades. It is effective against most species of parasites and has no known side effects when administered at normal anthelmintic doses, despite being in the highly toxic group of drugs (benzimidazoles or BZ’s).

Recently, several studies have reported that fenbendazole shows moderate microtubule destabilizing activity towards cancer cells as well as potent antitumor activities. [5-9] In one study, a KRAS-mutant lung adenocarcinoma cell line was transplanted into athymic nu/nu mice, and 1 mg of oral fenbendazole given every two days for 12 days caused a significant shrinkage in tumor weight and size.

A female patient with advanced NSCLC received oral fenbendazole, an anthelmintic, to treat her pinworm infestation as part of her chemotherapy treatment. She developed increased CEA levels and a rash in her face and hands, and her doctor discontinued her chemotherapy. During her interview with the medical oncologist, she stated that she started taking oral fenbendazole due to information from social media sites that fenbendazole had anti-cancer properties.

To investigate if fenbendazole has potential to treat tumors, we encapsulated fenbendazole into mono-disperse micelles containing polyethylene glycol (mPEG) and polycaprolactone (mPCL). Figure 2 shows changes in the size and permeability-distribution index (PDI) of the resulting FEN/RAPA-loaded mPEG-mPCL micelles during storage at 4degC, 25degC, and 37degC for 2 weeks.
