Maybe a doctor can prescribe something for you to help you with your anxiety.

Dear Brittany...

As someone who also suffers from severe anxiety, I highly recommend that you get something (Xanax preferably) from you doctor.

As for WHY you are feeling this way....after all that you are going through...I ask myself, WHY NOT? You have been dealing with such an incredibly difficult situation with no real answers or ability to predict the future. This would cause ANYONE to have anxiety, much less someone who is prone to it.

I wonder that as things may be stabilizing as I think they may be some, are you able to think more which is also causing the anxiety. You have been in such crisis management, maybe you didnt have time to think before?

Now that the ex is out of the hospital (at least I think he is) and you have time to look around and think of your future and what that may hold, anxiety is the first thing that would happen to me anyway. Is this possibly what is happening to you?

Just remember, I am always here to talk if you wish. I do hope that you are able to find relief from this anxiety as it can make life so much more uncomfortable. And Im sure that a doctor, knowing what you are dealing with would prescribe you something to help you get through this difficult period in you life. If not your regular doctor, I highly recommend a psychiatrist since they are the experts here and are more likely to treat you appropriately. Just a thought.......

Thank you,

I have been on Xanax since loosing both my parents a few years ago, and not to long after me and my husband seperated. It has just been building. There are many times that I am coming out of my skin from my anxiety levels. My therapist feels I am doing good, but I am telling you I am not. I am drowning in my anxiety. Every day......

Dear Brittany,

I know what you mean about having a therapist feel you are doing better then you are. This has happened to me in the past too. If however, you are telling them how poorly you are doing and they just arent getting it, then maybe its time to switch therapists? I dont know...but maybe a change would help.

I feel for you since I too, am drowning in anxiety as well. And that is even after Xanax 1 mg, three times a day! So yes...I am considered \"medically addicted\" at this point since this is a pretty high dose and you cant help but be addicted at these levels. BUT...this is what my therapist and psychiatrist feel I need with all that I have been going through. So I wonder, are you being taken seriously enough about what you are going through.

You are in such an incredibly difficult and unusual situation that I think you need some extra attention from your practitioners. Do you get your Xanax from a psychiatrist or you PCP? If it is your PCP, may I respectfully recommend that you find a good psychiatrist since they are really the once equipt to handle your level of anxiety and probably depression too.

You may need additional meds to compliment the Xanax, like maybe Cymbalta or Prozac....I think you would be surprised how much these simple and safe meds can do for you. Again...just a thought....

I do wish you some peace in your life as I can only imagine the conflicts you are dealing with. You situation is SO unusual, that I dont really know how you have handled it so well for so long. You are amazing and I am in awe of you!
