Feeling overwhelmed a bit
I'm SO glad I stopped working on the dog business stuff and focused on training. Race day is TOMORROW and I'm nervous. I've been having trouble sleeping and my blood pressure is up again - good thing I'm on meds because I'd be having one heck of a panic attack right now!
I'm not even keeping up with housework. I've got a list of stuff I want to get done before the dog sitter comes tomorrow and I'm not getting very far. Guess I'm not gonna worry about it. And the dog sitter - she only needs to stop by the house once or twice during the day, and told me since she now lives in Rapid that she'll stay all day, but is going to charge me $50 for it. YIKES! I'm paying it because she already knows my mutts and finding someone else is impossible because everyone is either working extra hours for the weekend or going away themselves. But still.... YIKES!
Ok, I have to admit... despite another 300 unread emails today (that still aren't gonna get read until Monday), I'm hanging in there. I rearranged my guest room, gonna get the floors steam cleaned this afternoon, and I reorganized my entire basement. I know I've said this before - but THIS time, it looks like a craft room SHOULD look. Couch on one side, quilt rack displaying current project, craft table with more projects in progress, shelves and dresser and books organized too; I bought holiday decorations the other day and they make the room warm and inviting to work in. I even got through cleaning my tool box, and got a whole bunch of plastic bins to put dog business stuff in. I still need to treat the walls and paint, but yep, I'm SATISFIED.
Training - I took this week off because I hurt my arm/elbow muscles last weekend hauling paint cans around and I want to be FRESH for the ride. I redid that most recent lost stretch last Sunday- the turn was only 7/10ths of a mile in and went Southeast instead of Southwest, and once I got to the road.... 6 MINUTES. 6 MINUTES instead of the hour it took me when I went the wrong way! So, what that means is that I should be at the 1/2 way point by 1pm (I have til 1:30 to get there and still be able to finish), AND, if I can keep my endurance up, I'll finish in about 10 hours.... in time to enjoy the party too! And temps are supposed to be 75 downtown, 61 up in the hills with SUN all day. PERFECT!
And so, I've got dumb fears I'm trying to ignore... like giving up the race at the halfway point because of being tired and not sleeping again tonite. SO... game plan - take a break at halfway and be determined to get to the Big Hill checkpoint (3/4 of the ride done) and then finish the rollercoaster stretch down. And sleep? I'm going to bed by 8:30 and even have my watch set so I don't forget. Back tomorrow night! LATER!
