feeling melancholy
I always feel a bit sad when I get home after our retreat. Yesterday I spent the day unpacking and doing laundry. Today, I was in a bit of a funk. It was cold, dull and the streets were icy. I had trouble getting going. By afternoon, the weather had cleared up so went for a walk. I thought I was going to die coming up the hill. I can't believe how fast my strength goes to pot when I don't walk daily!
As some of you know, Lisa visits as birds. When I think back over the summer, birds have been very present in our lives. Firstly, a goose had her goslings in a planter in a balcony below us. Then a robin build a nest and had 3 eggs in a hanging on our balcony. We have had birds around that we have never seen before. The latest was a bird with a flash of red on its head - it was sitting on our balcony rail. I truly believe Lisa has been letting us know that babies are going to be a part of our lives.
Tonight I got a call from one of Lisa's friends. Lisa met Harvey at Manon's wedding. She and Manon were friends who worked together. When Lisa was in labor, Manon spent hours at the hospital. Lisa labored for a long time. Manon went home in the evening and was back at the hospital before 7 am. She was really upset and stood by the elevator waiting for the doctor. He arrived early - Manon accosted him and told him that he'd better do something - and fast. The Caesarian Section was booked for that morning. When I next saw the doctor, he said "Lisa has one fierce little advocate!". She is one of the kindest people I know.
Anyway, Manon didn't know that Cevyn was pregnant. She found out from another friend today. She called this evening. I thought I had told her - I think I told everyone I know except Manon! We chatted and reminisced. She mentioned that Lisa had told her and another friend that she had always wanted twins. I know Lisa wanted more children but I didn't know she wanted twins.
Manon also said that she had recently visited a psychic. She told Manon that she had lost a close relative or friend. She thought it was her brother but was told "No it is a girl" and mentioned the name Lisa. She then said that she saw twins. I know Lisa is never far away. But it makes me so sad that she won't be on this side to love those little girls. They will miss out on the best grandmother ever.
Lisa: When I think your presence is all in my imagination, I get a sign I can't ignore! I miss you always and love you forever. Mummy

Cevyn is so blessed you are in here life and I know you feel the same. Yes it is so very sad Lisa will not be with these babies but the love you and Joe will give is the very life force of your daughter, Lisa. I am so very happy for you both. Can't wait till they are here. Continued blessings on this journey of ours. Love and Hugs, Kathy
I'm sure Lisa is so happy for Cevyn and you know she knows her granddaughters already.....OK I have no idea why I said granddaughters....I don't think you said the genders of the babies. It's probably because I have 4 granddaughters.
Sending lots of love to you Marlene and to Cevyn for an easy time and health for all.
I understand that feeling after a retreat too and how it often takes awhile to absorb it all. The healing that is in abundance is such a beautiful aspect of the FMO retreats. :)
Isn't that fascinating about the birds and their babies. No coincidences there.
Just as Terry said I have no doubt that Lisa has met those darling Littles and I'm hopeful and prayerful that all continues to go well for Cevyn and your family.
Loving care dear Marlene and much aloha,
XO Joanie
They are granddaughters. Arabella and Sierra.
I know what you mean. Hoping it will be a message for me, to start walking again. New dr.prescribes me a stimulate. Hoping it will get me moving. I do feel better with it. My weight is way up and feels bad. Went out one night this week. Dinner with old friends. Favorite old Hotel dining room. Couldn't really eat that late. Loved the night, but still recuperating. Low energy even with stimulate.
Son is off to Alaska. Fun. I. Think Cevyn having a baby is great. It will give you new life. Energy and love. Happy for you, dear Pal. Stay well, keep walking, Love,
Marlene, I can imagine, physically bonding with mothers who share something so intimate as the knowledge of pure love and loss, the aftermath has to take time to settle in :-), but it will, in time, won't it?
I think of Cevyn often. The journey that she finds herself on with her own memories and experiences and losses and now the ultimate gift - not to mention twins!!!!
Your gift of pure love, unending support and sharing the gift of how precious these babies are and will be will be infectious! Not to mention the gift of new life, hope, and a future to dream about that the twins will bring with them...
I love that you associate Lisa's visits with birds and that you are visited so often and in such special ways, too cool.
Love you my Albertian friend. I reflect on our very short visit on a glorious April in 2015 and thank you so much for sharing it with me...
Stay warm, stay dry xoxo from Jason's Mom to Lisa's Mom...
Great Grandmother, I need to find a shirt for you to flaunt. I did find cute shirts for my twin granddaughters saying sister 1 and sister 2 I will also lookout for something fun and tell you. I am sure Lisa will guide Chevyn with her girls just the way you will. Cannot wait to see pictures of the girls when they are born.
Hugs Penny
I think of Cevyn often and shoot up an arrow prayer for those babies and Cevyn and YOU. I cannot imagine how you are feeling having Lisa not here to experience being a grandmother. Oh how special these babies are but it will certainly pull @ your heart strings.
I associate Jennifer with humming birds. She liked them and had a couple of glass hummingbirds hanging in her kitchen....I smile everytime I see one....Lisa and Jennifer are surely together flying high.
Take good care of yourself and I'm hoping 2017 retreat will work for me!! Vicki
Blown away, I'm so behind, I had no idea she was pregnant and Twins to boot! Goodness, nothing like jumping in with both feet! Congratulations to all! Beautiful names. I know that Lisa is right there with her. I miss you, missed hearing all about the retreat. Want to see the tshirts and everything but refuse to do Facebook! Hugs and love Marlene, I'm sure everything was beautiful. Thanks for all your hard work and contributions, definitely a labor of love for our angels and sisters of the heart when you plan a retreat!
