Feeling like Cinderella...
I am counting down the days. Tomorrow is my last day to work before I go. Then I am off Friday and Saturday so I have time to getmyself all together.
I took today off as well because I made an appointment with my niece. She is head stylist for a high end salon and I normally go cheaper... but this time I decided to splurge. I even went for a mani pedi too. Was there for 5 hours and had a ball. It was nice having a chance to catch up with Sheri and get to know a few of her coworkers.I doubt I will make it a habit... but I did leave feeling like a queen for a day.
My sweetie also has a tendency to do all in his power to make me feel special as well. He has informed me that if nothing else, he will show me how someone special deserves to be treated. (and that after our trip... whether I do wind up with him or someone else, he does not want me to continue to settle for guys who may take advantage of me (primarily because that is all I expected ) I found myself sharing this with my nail tech. She did share how she had a tendency to do alot for guys she was with before . Often covering the bill and giving more... but getting little back. She is currently going out with a guy who also wants to do for her and treats her well. I told her of our story and how he will teach her that she deserves better and will not want to settle for just any Joe Schmo who takes advantage as well. (Is funny ... and progress. She is only 21. Would be great if she learned this now instead of 85 years later like me. )
Here's hoping more of us may just find that prince (whether he sticks around.. or does help us to break that cycle of Joe Schmos and does encourage us to think and be more ...exactly who we are and want to be.)
BTW... we are ALL special and do deserve to feel and be treated this way (even if just on occasion) Wishing all may feel this joy and contentment I am currently feeling (and don't want to let go of. ) Hugs, Kim

I am so happy for you! Just relax and take it easy and take things as they come. Try not to think too far ahead and you will have a good time. Leave the past in the past. It is dead to you now because today, is the first day of the rest of your life!
~~~Cheers~~~
I am so happy for you Kim. You deserve this. Enjoy being pampered and treated like a princess.
I wish you nothing but happiness from this day forward.
Hugs from the other evil twin
Kim
Wow, I want to respond to this exciting news but remember it is only my opinion reading you from afar.
Kim sounds like you had quite the day. In my way of thinking this "prince" is the lucky one. I would be willing to bet that he is just a guy who is meeting you in his own pain as well. It does not take an insider to see that from your journal. Who knows, he may be more like you than you think. Like you, he may just want the best for all people. You must have caught his mind's eye with your kindness and the same desire.
Seems we are all on this site out of our pain, longings, desires, unfulfillments, disappointments, and whatever the hell else we have gone through. I have not been on here long, but I know this support site is like a finishing school with some very good teachers. Together we help each other be kind, deal with our pain, and give hope for our future lives. You are one of the teachers.
The story of Cinderella is older than the 50's Disney Version, The story originated in Greek Mythology dramas. Those dramas had three main characters all coming from the Greek idea of life or the drama life presents to all of us, (a protagonist (the main character), a deuteragonist (the second main character), and tritagonist). The prince is the tritagonist which is from the Greek transliteration tritagōnistḗs and literally means "the third most important character", There is a lot of meaning in Cinderalla that I will not go into.
The point I am wanting to make is simply the following. Ella (Cinderella) is the protagonist in Cinderella or "The Main Character". The prince, well he is the least important character. Why? Because in these dramas there were only three main characters and the prince was number three, last on the list.
I could be wrong here, for there is a lot I am still learning. But, seems you have already put yourself in the position of being the protagonist with the help of your deuteragonist (or Lady Tremaine - wicked stepmother). And to note, later the Greeks developed the concept in their dramas that a protagonist is really who we are and the main character of our life, a person can have many deuteragonists influences in their lives and how it is our responsibility to break free of the drama triangle and become who we want to be. The Greeks called it "Ἔρως" meaning simply "desire." This is where we get the word "Eros" (the pursuit of pleasure) and erotic (meaning arousal or excitement). We fill in the blanks of what our arousal and excitement look like.
Greek Mythology always follows the drama of real life. Fairy Tales always start with the hope of reality. It is nice seeing you be the protagonist or more correctly, it is exciting to see you accept that role. Again from a half-brained (literally), old hippie songwriter want-a-be writing dysfunctional songs, seems to me you are ahead of the game and have been waiting to wake up from the sleep of a life where you wanted more. What an exciting example of transformation for us all. Your prince is lucky.
When you arrive, remember you are the main character in your week's adventure "drama" that you have created. The difference is the drama you are going to enter into only contains two characters, the protagonist, and your tritagonist. There will be no wicked stepmother, you are starting to flush those influences with all the crap you have put up with in your life. Therefore, it what you are going to embark on is truly an adventure for you to have been pursuing it for such a long time.
Congratulations, Kim! You were so ready that you felt the kiss from afar and woke up on your own. As I said, the prince is the least important character.
Hugs,
Walt
I hope for the best for you. I been 1 of the lucky ones where I been with my husband for 17 years from when he was 19 and I was 20 and even know we have 2 kids we love.were still in the honey moon phase for the most part.
I don't like seing or hear people being taking advantage of.because in a relationship comes a lot of sacrafices its not suppose to be a 1 way st.
Enjoy your time
Great to hear you treated yourself! Self care, whatever that entails, is something I suspect you’ve not done for yourself in a long time, if maybe ever. So good for you to do it without guilt or beating yourself up about it. Big step! This is your time!
did you get the bikini wax too? hehehe
hope they made you look like a million....hugs
Bill... Just never you mind what exactly I got done. LOL
I will say I spent 5 hrs there and had a ball. With what they had to work with...I would say just half a mil. (Wink, wink)
DA BRAZILLION!!!! ;-0)
