Feeling great today
Today has been a great day so far. I have no pain and was able to clean the house and even vacuum the living room.
I just got back from JC Penny's where I used some cash off certificates and 30% off discount certificates they sent me for my birthday. Came home with a pair of khaki jeans and 4 shirts that will go nicely with the khaki jeans or regular jeans. So I feel like I have accomplished something today especially by getting out of the house.
The weather outside is beautiful and so we are going to be grilling out hamburger for dinner. My hubby makes the best burgers on the grill.
My article I wrote about April being Parkinson's Awareness Month was printed in today's newspaper, so that made me happy that they got it in before April began. Now I'm just hoping that the public reads it and becomes more familar with what Parkinson's disease is. I also put into the article that this area that live in, which is a military town, does not have an active Parkinson's support group. I'm hoping that someone who specializes in Parkinson's will read the article and maybe start a support group around this area.

Skeeter elf glad to see that your article made it to print.. I have been trying to get on the local channel 12 news and the jerk editor has been blowing me off. first gut reactions was not interested then he gave me a bad email address. now he has not returned 2 phone messages. I want to get some local coverage before the 25th the day of the big Unity Walk. any advise? Alex
Hey hisknobs - Thank you. Not only did the letter make the newspaper but I mailed the same letter to our public officials and heard back from the Mayor saying that he was going to issue a proclamation for April being Parkinson\'s Awareness Month. So now my city has an proclamation set up for April. I will take a copy of this proclamation and attach a Press Release to it and hand carry it to the local newspaper. So things are moving along pretty good. Hope you are doing good. Sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time getting your information out there to bring public awareness. Right now I am waiting to hear from the local newspaper about whether or not they felt that this Proclamation was news worthy but it\'s been 2-days now and no response so that is why I have just decided to make a copy and drafted up my own version of a Press Release and hand carry it in to their office. Do you have an Area Happenings section in the newspaper? I would list your event in there but if it were me Alex - I would hand carry my stuff into the newspaper and ask to speak to someone who handles Letter\'s to the Editors or whatever section you want section you want it in. I am just a little agressivel
