Feeling Great
I've just finished 6 weeks on Synthroid 75 mcg for secondary hypothyroidism due to my Prolactinoma. I thought that all of my fatigue, brain fog and constipation was due to cabergoline. But my 2nd (very smart) endo found that I had a low Free T4 and started me on synthroid.
I feel more hopeful, less teary more energetic that I have in months. I know that there will be some more tough times to come but at least it is not every day now.
My mom had genetic testing done for MEN1 and will be tested myself if hers is +. I need to warn my kids if they need to be screened.
I'm also investing in acupuncture for allergies -- but I think it is helping my overall state of health. Walking about 12 miles per week, working 45-50 hours per week and getting back into the swing of things.
I have placed thoughts of surgery on the back burner for now. I have my first MRI on meds in late April and I'm scared. I feel good and labs are normal. I'm bracing for no change is good news. Hoping It didn't grow.

This sounds great.
Just a few weeks ago, I went to my Endo for the 6 month checkup. My prolactin level was 5! That\'s by far the lowest it\'s been since this odyssey began.
Synthroid gives me anxiety and we\'ve found the \"sweet spot\" for my T4 levels. I actually need no synthroid at all....just .25 Cabergoline, 4 pumps of Androgel and a couple of Ibuprophen and I\'m good to go.
I need some sleep, though.
I have had hot flashes, palpitations and some anxiety on the Synthroid, but I have had a great deal less brain fog and fatigue.
It\'s all a giant balancing act. I\'ve considered estrogen but slightly scared of breast cancer.
I would talk to my doctor about it...but, if it does not run in your family, you should be ok.
I have hot flashes as well...and I\'m a man. Go figure!
