Feeling down today
Thinking about how I fell off the wagon over the holidays and paying back my credit cards. I try to rationalize everything...I live alone so I'm not hurting anyone but myself, I'm not at rock bottom yet, etc, etc, etc. but the fact is unless I get this under control I will be spending my golden years on the streets!

Hi Bernie, Please don\'t beat yourself up so much. It\'s the addiction, not you that is the problem. Sometimes I wish I lived alone when I was gambling so I would not have someone harping at me. I guess I am lucky I do, even though he doesn\'t really harp much. Do you have a friend you can ask to be your person to check on you? Maybe to watch your money to help you keep yourself accountable? I spent time taking to jcwang here last night and he has kept himself safe for several years by cutting easy access to money. It works! I have done the same. Could you try that? Then, you won\'t have to worry so much if you do find yourself back at the casino. NO MONEY=NO GAMBLE. I know you want to stop, we all do or we wouldn\'t be here talking about it. That is the first BIG step. Admitting we have a problem. You are stronger than you know. Keep trying and you will succeed! Hugs, Cher
Bernie, I am right there with you. I spent 600.00 last night. I have pending withdrawals but it takes a freaking year to get your money. I am starting day 1 AGAIN. I am actually calling the casino to shut down my account, however I want to be able to log on to see where my withdrawals stand. It makes me hate myself. I have a wonderful man in my life and I broke up with him. I figured out this morning why. I gamble and he knows it, but he thinks I quit. He even asked me if I was gambling again and I said \"no\". He is the one person I think could help me but I feel so humiliated about the whole thing. They say you cant love someone else until you love yourself, and now i know why. I feel like I have a dirty little secret. It sucks. Hang in there. I am going to try and get on here and post daily!!!
hi, bernie,
Congrats !!! for getting here as early as you have.
Don\'t look back just each and every day make the promise not to gamble.
Accept what has been. We can only control our reactions to events.
Tell everyone you know so they may help you.
Self ban from the casino if possible
Take away all access to money
You must not isolate yourself, family, friends, job, charity.....
I did and it caused the addiction to run rampant.
I rationalized myself into debt. I kept thinking as well how I could gamble I had money, no one hurt but me, ya da ya da ya da..
well now that I really want to quit this ugly thing and get it completely out of my life I find I am ADDICTED beyond my comprehension.
Stay with us and together we will lick this bad boy.
