Feeling blah
I'm feeling kind of blah today, I am fighting from going down the dark road and letting the clouds come over my head and drown me. I blew off work today cause I didn't want to go in. I am so disappointed in myself for not finding a new job by now. I gave myself a goal this month, to get out of Home Depot by the end of Oct. I had two job offers this year, but both didn't work out. my last job offer, at AC Moore, would have had me working less hours for less pay. I am so confused and just fed up. I guess I am too picky. I don't want to work on Sat, I did the weekend work thing. It didn't let me have a social life. pretty much everyone I know has weekends off. I'd like to have a job that I am happy with, is that too much to ask for. Not a perfect job, that doesn't exist. But when I hear people say they like their jobs, I wish I could say that. I spoke to my cousin the other day, he is retired and very well off financially and has a good relationship with his kids and grandkids. I lied about my job and a few other things. I didn't want him judging me or giving me his 2 cents.
I am not happy with myself. I'm trying to feel good about myself. I am going to Harper's Ferry tomorrow with my meet up group. I am trying to stay positive and not be anxious about it. I have been there before. My friend/housemate took me there last year. I love being in the country.
thanks for letting me vent.

Hi Linda, i'm so glad you're writing, and reaching out to us :) it helps to write, especially when we are feeling down, and in need of support. :)
i'm so sorry you're feeling down about things. i know it's been stressful on you, about your job, and how you wish to find a job you're happy with. i truly believe an opportunity will come up :) i know here in our area, there's goodwill stores, that hire frequently, also other seasonal stores, where job opportunities may be available. :)
i think it's so good, the determination you have, and that gives lots of hope :) i know you will make it through this rough stretch. i'm so happy you planned a nice visit to Harper's Ferry, and that oyu're gonna be going there with others :)

Hi Linda...I'm sorry that you have a case of the blahs. Please don't be too hard on yourself. There's certainly nothing wrong with being selective in your job search. Chris mentioned seasonal stores, and there are a lot of companies who are looking for PT seasonal help over the holidays. It might be a way to try out a new job without a long-term commitment. Also, if you haven't already read it, I'd encourage you to check out "What Color is Your Parachute?," by Richard Bolles, which can really help with the job-searching process.
I hope that you enjoy your time at Harper's Ferry! Looking forward to hearing about your visit. Hugs, Judy
Thanks guys for your support, it helps. <3
