Feeling Better & A New Friend

A couple of days ago, I received a most delightful surprise... not that I really had anything planned prior to make the surprise more surprising... but still... I initially thought I'd just relax, get some studying done, return a book to the library, hang out at home with the hubby a bit, and that would be that.

I'm doing my best to calm down since the big move, and I do have calm moments now (finally!), however they still get interrupted by waves of anxiety. But back to the surprise; I met the kindest person while out walking towards the library.

It was one of those synchronous events in life, where you meet someone by happenstance, hit it off, and suddenly a stream of energy flows anew into your existence... yes, I do wax poetic on occasion.  ;)

So, instead of the day I thought I was going to have, I received a day that was so much better.

It was something of an adventure day with a new and now dear friend... where I was taken on a guided tour of Stone Mountain National Park (while still leaving me enough mystery to explore on my own later)...

... and then out for coffee and a walk about town, with the opportunity to meet some really nice local folks. It certainly helped me to get better dialed in with the community. And, that is a priceless gift. Dare I say, this is starting to feel more like home...???... Each day, as the house settles and my connections broaden bit by bit, I can feel myself trying to nest.

I had group yoga in the park yesterday morning (and my rosacea did terrific in the heat and sun for over an hour, no problems! WOOT!) and an art stroll that same evening. The hubby was wearing his cowboy hat for the art stroll and a creative photographer loved it so much, she took some really cool pics of him.

Today, the hubby and I go antiquing, and we even have a house guest stopping by at some point.

Plus, we just mailed in our dues for membership to the Historical Society! DOUBLE WOOT!!!

What a difference a day (or also a weekend) makes in easing some of the overwhelm... What a difference a really cool friend makes, too.  :)
