Feeling Accomplished

On March 17th I attended my last day of classes for Medical Office Assistant. I began my journey of school again in May of 2016 only this time as a single first time Mommy. It was scary, stressful, and journey filled with so much financial turmoil and fear. Although I had many sleepless nights and many days of crying. I made it!!! I get to walk accross that stage on May 10th 2017 with my baby watching me. The amount of joy I have is huge. I couldn't be more proud of myself about anything else I accomplished prior to having my daughter as I am now. 

The second thing that I also succeded in is..working with the career services team at my school who were not only my teachers and faculty they were also my boss while I did work study on campus as their front desk receptionist for my last 8 weeks. During this time everyday I sent  out resumes to doctor's offices in my county that they provided me. Not only did they assist me with places..I also searched myself. In my search I came accross an ad that a women posted on a help wanted page on facebook. This employee was leaving a private eye doctor's office and was helping the eye doctor fine a replacement for her specific postion she held there.  I emailed this women my resume. The very next day she handed it in to him. He called me that morning and I set up an interview.ext day. The interview was a success in fact my very best interview I have ever had since I began working in retail at the age of 15. 

A week later I was given the position of an Opthamology Technician/ Medical Office Asistant. I started my new career on March 20th. 

I have now been there for about 3 weeks. I am absolutly content and very comfortable with my new career. SO much that I am now very interested in the eye..and hoping to further my learning with through the Optomologist that I work for. He trains everyone he hires and if you stay for a year or more he will assist you with the classes to become certified as an actual Opthamology Technician. Seeing that I'm only certified as an MOA and hoping to become state certified as an MOA. I'm very much interested in being certified as an eye tech. 

I wanted to share this story to show other women out there who are single mommies that no matter how old you are. No matter how hard life is, how scared or stressful one can get. YOU can do it...YOU can succeed. It is hard work and it is a HUGE sacrifice on so very much when one is a parent. BUT, it can be done and you will feel amazing about everything that was sacrificed when you complete it  and walk accross that stage with your kids watching in the audiance. When you look over at them and they have a  big smile on their face when you are on that stage being handed the degree..that feeling wil be as wonderful of a feeling like you had the very day you gave birth to your precious baby and held them for the first time. Everything a Mommy a does they do, for not only themselve but for their children. 

So please to each and every one of the great mommys out there. Never give up..never feel like the world is on your shoulders and that everything will never work out or ever be ok financial or whatever struggle it is that you have,  because it will you just need to take the world in hands and show it that you are NOT backing down and allowing it to just sit on your shoulders and bring down.  Just beleive in yourselves. And you will see that the outcome will be the best choice you ever made. What ever choice it is that you choose to make to better not only yourself but the little lives we brought into this world.
