Fed up but not letting it get me down

Anyone who has read my posts on here should know me as being upbeat and positive.  Very recently been finding this a bit harder.  Not 'cos of problems with 'numbers' but due to an infection in my leg.
June '13 I had what I thought was a flare-up of gout (occasionally get that) and eventually saw my doctor who said it was cellulitis and put me on antibiotics.  After a 2 week course - no improvement.  More tablets.  Still no better and spread across my foot and towards the ankle.  Two more courses and it had tracked across the ankle but wasn't unbearable.

Then stupidly I had a fall and broke two vertebrae - this put me out of action for a few months and the foot problem took a back seat.

Just before Christmas I had to resort to seeing the doctor again as the swelling was now past the ankle and into the shin area.  This time it was my new doctor in the village as I had moved house. More antibiotics but this doctor is more patient-focussed and is showing more concern.

Then in February I was back to see him again and he sent me for x-ray and referred to my HIV specialist for advice and further help.  So far I've had an MRI scan and due to see a dermatologist - but not til the beginning of June.

Due back to the specialist on 14th April for MRI results and update but the swelling has now reached the knee joint and I am getting much more pain.  Seems to be tracking up the leg at about an inch a week. 

Am finding myself becoming irritable and sleep pattern is blown out of the water (whether due to HIV meds or the pain from leg I am not sure). 

Getting fed up with this now and just want to get a solution.
