Fed Up

Maybe I am just tired and irritable because of daylight savings but I am really getting fed up at my job. Maybe fed up with just the direction society in general is going.

As I related in another journal post, I had issues with a coworker awhile back. She is still here and worse they keep letting her get away with anything she wants. Since the altercation, all they did was separate us, but lately she has been creeping into my office area, just pushing to see how much she can get away with. It makes me really uncomfortable.

I just really despise when people don't follow or enforce rules. Why do we even have attendance policy and dress code at work if it isn't enforced in any way? Since they put her in a separate area, she has been off 3 different times on mini vacation. It's unpaid, but she had no days to miss and we were short handed because other people were out at the same time.

Then she came to work in pajamas and rubber boots. We work in a professional office dealing with clients face to face. Nothing was done about that. Then last weekend she came in with purple hair. That got blamed on Halloween and an "accident." Then Monday she came in wearing a two piece outfit that would have been inappropriate even if it wasn't midriff baring. She looked like a clown. I overheard our bookkeeper complain about it to our immediate supervisor. She demanded something be said to the offender, but again, nothing was done and the bookkeeper was told it "must've been her imagination." Just like it was my "imagination" that this psycho said demeaning things to me in a snotty tone of voice.

The bitch has called me a bastard on 2 separate occasions. Like anybody even cares in this day and age. She don't go to church and neither do I so who cares. She isn't from here either so how or why it is any of her business whether or not my parents were married or not when they had me is bs.

She has also openly used the n word in front of everyone at work. If I were the boss I would beat her for that. Also one day my cousin who works here and I were having a private conversation about us researching our geneology. Our family is native American and my cousin made a comment that her daughters both really show it but her son took after his dad. This bitch walks up and goes "well all I know is I ain't got no bleep bleep in me." I wanted to jump on her and beat her right then. I don't appreciate being called a racial slur. Luckily my cousin retorted with "oh right you're just dumb blonde." Nothing is ever going to get done about this because we have no hr department and she is obviously sucking someone's dick.

She fell asleep at her station awhile back and a customer came and told me she couldn't wake her up. I told our VP and he got mad and didn't believe me!

So you can see why I'm fed up with this nonsense going on. I am not proud to work here. I no longer care if it is a good job in my community. That clearly means nothing if a trashy outsider is going to be allowed to come in as do this kind of shit to me.

I'm really starting to lose sleep because I'm worried what I might do. I have caused some shit to happen to people at other jobs. I have hurt people before. I'm afraid one day soon this will escalate and this chick is gonna say something to me in the parking lot and I will attack her with the Louisville slugger I have under my driver's seat, or worse the tire iron. I'm already having nightmares about beating her up with a dictionary. And it's gotten worse since my weekly kickboxing class was cancelled. I always pictured this bitch at the end of my practice stick when doing our weapons katas. Now what am I supposed to do? Quit I guess. She keeps pushing boundaries and invading my pace at work. I'm nervous.

Breathing with you, Ghost. . . I hope you can resist the temptation to give "society in general" credit for the behavior of one sick individual. For sure, this member of "society in general" doesn't want any credit, whatsoever, for that behavior. Not even generic credit.

I also hope you can hold your ground instead of letting this sick individual cost you a job. It will be worth the effort to learn how to set and stick to your boundaries with her. Unfortunately, there she is not the only sick individual in the world and the boundary-setting skills you learn with her will come in right handy in the next not-so-merry-go-round.

So I hope. . . Whether my hopes fit your case or not, breathing with you. . .

I have reported and ignored above user. No idea who he or she is. I hope other people who read this have a better understanding of my feelings and realize the only reason I feel afraid that something physical will happen because I continue to be under verbal attack from this coworker and absolutely nothing is getting done about it. I have nothing she said recorded and nowhere to turn. It just frustrates me. Also, I am not black, as the above person tried to say. I just don't think racial slurs, the n word, or the f word, are appropriate things to be saying in a professional customer service position, and someone who repeatedly uses abusive language like this should be fired.

Also I am very upset and frustrated because I am likely going to have to quit this job to avoid this abuse. Which is bs because I live here, my family is from here, and I have 2 college degrees and 10 years customer experience. This chick worked in a warehouse before this, only job she ever had, and no highschool diploma. But I'm the one they want to quit? Maybe they feel sorry for her?
Now I have to plan on making a big move and changes and stress out looking for another job when I had planned to be here for a long time. Just makes no sense and should not happen.

Healing hopes for suddenmovementsam. That's a hefty chip to be carrying on your shoulder.

Getting back on topic. . .

I have often channeled my work stresses into job hunting. In the cases where the work problem resolved itself, I still felt better for knowing what was out there and that my resume was ready to roll. Once it even netted me a much better job with a nifty pay raise.

Still breathing with you, Ghost. Steadying support while you sort what is right for you. Co-worker conflicts suck, both literally and figuratively.

Write everything you said down (minus your violence) and give it to the highest boss in the company along with a dated letter stating the stress you are under because of the problems that employee is causing.

Ok maybe I can type something up tonight if you think that will work. Arf I have updated my resume and looking around at jobs. Not sure what area to move to but I have had a few offers.
Just so frustrated. The victim is always the bad guy. When I was in highschool I got suspended because an underclassman called my friend and I stupid whores. I told him his car was lame and looked like a dumb cartoon car that would blow up. And I got kicked out of school on a bomb threat. Really, wth is wrong with people?

this is not the place for someone to be a mean person....so I assume that the above poster will be banned for this post here,
Ghostwolf....I am sorry that this gal has gotten way far too difficult to get along with.....but do not quit any job without a new job in place....why would you need to move? is it part of the job that you live in an apt complex?
I would just be checking out places like Indeed and Monster.com and careerbuilder.com....good luck.....maybe it is a God push in the right direction for a future you could only have dreams of that is at your doorstep now? think positive.....hugs bill

Thanks Bill :) I would have to move because there are no other jobs here. It's a remote area and better jobs are further away. Fiance and I both got job offers from an hour away. I won't be quitting before I get bonuses and for sure land another job.

She isn't here again today and it is so peaceful. I took melatonin and got a little sleep last night. Lifted weights before bed until my arms were so sore I couldn't punch anybody, so that helped with stress.
I wonder if she is looking for another job? Not sure what's going on but she misses work alot and no days to do so.

I will wish you a fond farewell from DS because this is a support group environment and the spouting off you are doing is called abuse here and is dealt with by the firm hands of DS administration to ban you for life from future use of DS.....so see ya no more hopefully after they review your rant here and ban you.....sorry suddenmovementsam but you are about to be banned.....

Back to the topic of the coworker issue. She has missed a full week of work with no pay and still somehow has a job here. I talked to one person I work with about how unsafe I feel and don't like working here if there are no rules or consequences. We had a male coworker that she sexually harassed in front of everyone. Nothing got done about that either and he ended up quitting earlier this year.
My coworker friend said the psycho coworker won't get a Christmas bonus because of all her antics, she also isn't getting paid for all this time off she has been taking. I think she will throw a fit when she gets no bonus money and they will give into her like always.
