fed br's colony//went to hope store//breakfast out at mom and pop cafe//bought animal supplies &meds

this is today:   got up early.  fed the animals and did animal care.  returned m's call to pick up animal med.  called sh and rn to tell them going to shop down south and didn't reach either one because rn was doing pruning work in the same town down south all day.

drove to br's and fed his animals.  today, they were both in his yard waiting.  went to the mom and pop cafe, which is near there, and the female waiter that steals was there - instead of the funny guy one.   discovered today, she also used to own a bar.  there is a closing of another bar/restaurant tonight, with free food (whatever is left in the kitchen) but priced for drinks.  amazing, they keep saying the economy is improving and it keeps getting worse.  sooooo many businesses and mini malls are closed around here.  the woman actually makes better coffee than the other guy, don't know how that is, if its in packets?  she was sitting around cutting fresh apples when i went in there.  got the breakfast that i love (its still really great home fries - the best) and an italian sub to go.  (there italian subs are also the best, super fresh).

headed to animal supply place and they were setting up for adoptions.  picked up a ton of supplies with $5 off coupons.  yay!  and ran into the girl who adopted from us years ago who is a student.  realized after i talked to her, that i must tell her the same stories every time i talk to her, the poor thing, i really am getting old.  lol.  the other girl was there as well and had some small open bags of holistic cat food!  lucky day, seriously.

went to the hope store and picked up canned and jarred fruit.  and a book for a.  a lot of their deals, aren't deals anymore and one of the patrons says the main one is worse.  was a really great place two years ago though.  bought smoothies for k.  biscotti for me and j.  discovered the manager michelle who had been on the suzanne somers diet and lost all the weight and then had medical issues lately, was actually FIRED by the hope store.  hmmmm.  hope it wasn't because she was ill, its a christian store!  she is moving back to tennessee.  she is the one that is 56 and recently adopted her "sort of" grand daughter, i think it was a neighbor's daughter that signed over custody at infancy as a temporary measure and here it is 4 years later ...
stopped at sh's to drop off supplies and ran into sh at the assisted living that she owns with one partner.  they are trying to sell the assisted living.  she bought a new truck, its the second one, its actually from her mother's credit and her mother is a patient there.  have no idea how that works.  sh reminded me she needs paperwork again.  i keep forgetting, at one point i forgot totally.  for a couple of months.  i took it out again last week and then it got pushed aside again, its only for her house not for the facility.  funny when i did support staff work i always had all of this kind of stuff done.  now that i haven't done support staff work in almost 20 years, it gets pushed aside all the time.  time really flies.
dropped off everything at the house down south and then headed to m's next to pick up albon for rn and eye medicine.  should request ear medicine as well.  wonder if their vet could look at the cat with the ear trouble.  amazing he recognized me as soon as i walked in the door, he is way better with faces than i am.  picked up a scratching post with emory board stuff on it and a beautiful bowl - i have the same bowl from walmart a few years ago $8, got it at their shop for 50 cents.  lol.  very sad going in there, as people were bringing in animals as we stood there and if he put down the mother and babies, he isn't telling me.  the rest of what he was doing was good.  glad they have more programs now and at the moment it seems like they have nicer people, but that comes and goes.   though only a federal tax for mandatory and FREE spay/neuter will change things permanently.
headed up north, and publix had blue bell ice cream sandwiches on sale.  they always sell out of them, i got the last one, $4 (twice the price of ones from aldi's but blue bell is the best ice cream sandwiches out there).
started going through paperwork and discovered MORE stuff the new guy screwed up.  he's here nine weeks and its like solid bad.  the other new guy is actually doing better.  this guy says, well, if he was doing easier stuff, he wouldn't screw up either.  its too late for that, we already have 3 people to do the easier stuff and the stuff he should be doing isn't difficult.  he also seems to be having a bad affect on the guy that we have that is fairly limited on what he can do, but still does more than the three that do the easy stuff.   its like this guy is polluting what the other guy does right.  this is the last thing i need.  wish our company paid more and then i could hire better people.  several years ago it was like that here.  but nowadays the attitude is we are all lucky to be employed.

hiccups are a sign of stroke!!

when stroke affects the brains breathing center, it can trigger a sudden, protracted case of hiccups, commonly in women.

now i feel guilty when i read this. so i blamed the new guy and wasn\'t going to have him come in...except the other guy didn\'t call back for 3 hours. good thing. this whole computer thing is making me nuts. instead i had them fill in incident reports as the new guy DID say the screen was saying error and then prompts were coming up to hit enter etc. and the other guy DID get the other thing done, except its only a page instead of like three pages....grrrr, but still its done, just easy to miss because its a shorty. (you can\'t even DO that. you have to fill out the other pages. there are all these waivers nowadays. so its like where is the rest of this OR it gets stuck to the one before it as a sixth page because its only one page and one page isn\'t anything). i actually yelled at this guy (though he\'s two faced a lot so it doesn\'t matter. i think he enjoys being yelled at, because he just goes with it and if you are nice to him or new, he tries to bully you. one of those. wonder what mental disorder that is. don\'t really need to know that though.

then he mentions that this other guy was here and used equipment of ours and knocked into the computer, which could have messed it up if it was on. then he tries to write a report blaming this other company for messing up the computer and i\'m like, if you didn\'t SEE him do any of this you can\'t accuse him of it (the most dangerous weapon is your tongue, kind of thing), and in writing its even worse, he could sue the company for libel. but at least i have a clue what happened. glad i didn\'t go further than running around here yelling alllll day. if i had called anyone on it, it would have made a mountain out of a mole hill.

then i talk to the new guy, who is having a terrible time of it (or says he is) and is super apologetic, i told him straight out i blamed him for the screwup with the computer and he assured me he wouldn\'t mess with any of the systems because he doesn\'t know enough about computers to do that. wouldn\'t touch it. thrilled to hear that, because earlier on he was alluding that he like playing with systems and the young ones who are like that are ALWAYS a problem. none of them seem to know much more than the rest of us do with this stuff and even our tech gets thrown on some of it, because we are mixed in with a bigger system. (so are colleges nowadays, no more printers, it goes onto a flashdrive or usb and its sent in through a cloud i think it said. whatever). lol. so so so old, i am. my tech knowledge stopped somewhere around the 90\'s and 2008. lol.

so here i go into the computer to fix things. i unplugged and let it boot, figuring it will fix itself. computers do that. i took a towel and cleaned out the dust. i left notes that the computer should be turned off for 5 minutes per day, (its not, our lazer fax is on 24/7 also, but still running strong, it goes into sleep mode). i checked back on documents, and it all seems okay except for one day, so now i think maybe it was hit with lightening or electrical storm or overheated that day? only guessing.

on one hand i\'m hugely relieved there isn\'t a whacko thing going on with the new guy and mr. slow who i yelled at two days in a row. on the other hand i feel guilty. then i remember all the bullying mr. slow gives to others and i remember the customer complaining that new guy called her or someone she was with a skag, and i don\'t feel guilty anymore.

hope its fixed.
