February 28 2012: the week in review
After some soul searching I realized that I had let down my defenses and became compliant with enforcing boundaries. I am determined to find a way to make detachment work for me. I have decided that a "peaceful co-existence" is the best path for us right now. I have said what I had to say, he is aware of what I can deal with and what I will not and he is aware that I will resume the very full and satisfying social life that is available to me if I am unhappy with our relationship....I will NOT be the only one working on this. my vacation week was so-so because we had planned to spend it doing things together, I did however make sure I did some fun things with friends and did not sit around watching him be a pill.(eat a pill???ha)
I bought a puppy! I have wanted one for a while and hubby always a little resistant because of breed disputes. I finally thought what am I doing? Why am I letting him totally control this situation? I am ALLOWED to have a puppy and if he does not want to participate in a mature, grown-up dialog, I will do as I wish. I LOVE THIS PUP! and now I have something sweet and loving to spend my worry(and $$$ lol) on.
On other fronts my mother fell over the weekend and broke her hip. made it through the surgery and appears to be doing well..... and now the family dramas will begin, since my mother thrives on sickness related attention and plays one sister against another. At her last "crisis", I told my sister in no uncertain terms that I refused to participate in any beating each other up, and these times were meant to support each other in positive ways and not to take out our frustrations and anxieties on each other. I plan on not being guilty because i work full time and cannot possibly travel the 50 miles to the hospital after work each day. I will do what I can and certainly will not shirk my responsibilities, however my parents insist on traveling quite far to their doctors and will not consider the several very good hospitals in our area.
Plans for this week: enjoy my puppy, meditation groups thurs. and fri. nights, exercise a bit and get my diet under control. i will approach both puppy and husband with positive reinforcement. i just have no more fight in me. and i am just sick of hearing myself complain.
