Fear? Paranoia?

The entire household has had allergy symptoms for the past week or two. A post-nasal drip doesn't mean what it did in the 2019 allergy season when we fielded the trauma induced climate change of the foster kids changing from their urban housing to a farm in another allergy region. That was a rough allergy season. . . We were mostly past it, but monitoring carefully, when Corona crowned. The published symptom lists sounded allot like what we had been fielding. The pediatrician even tested Baby Sis for Corona. Negative. Not even she could tell the diff between allergy and Corona, but it was early into the hysteria. I was able to read her lips while we consulted.

Hubby more or less likes and trusts doctors. His upper-middle class conditioning gives them far more humanity than my White Trash conditioning. Doctors live on the same planet I do? Don't tell me. Show me. Still awaiting empirical evidence.

Hubby hasn't had time to keep up with his own doctor regimine since the tragedy. The need to establish a local network adds extra challenge to that process. He is highly independent in his doctor visits and I am mostly uninterested. Mostly. I often wonder if those mysteries would be worth unraveling, but always end up learning more about holistic medicine. It just makes more sense to me and doesn't require insurance.

I had a panic attack yesterday when he told me he wanted to carry his stubborn symptoms to a medical establishment. Vivid images of masked police action flooded my inner eye and have yet to respond well to therapy tools. I felt like a moral degenerate sending the children off to school if there is a Corona symptom anywere in the family circle. Will that failure to comply earn us harsher police action?

Sorting. . . Processing. . . Plying therapy tools. . .

This morning hubby still wants to go to the doctor and knows me too well to miss the symptoms of my psychotic episode. Our morning started dangerously close to the domestic tit-for-tat which is characteristic of our incompatible views of medicine. We are praying to close that gap but. . . Small steps, big faith and lots of prayer. Letting God lead the dance.

I was greatly relieved when Hubby returned from the appointment with no police escort. We were not criminals for sending the children to school today. Hubby tells me it was a parking lot adventure with no testing for anything but The Big C. Move over, cancer. There's a C even bigger than you, now. We've all been upstaged by the new C on the block.

Anyhoo. . .

No checking vitals. No discussion of patient history. Once they confirmed it was not The Big C. they shrugged and said, "Probably allergies." Masked parking lot social over. Please increase you social distance now.

Onward through the fog.

oh good, I really enjoy the relieved word xo One of my very most faves - to feel - and to see felt <3

Today, I had to call the danged doctor again - sinus infection showed up big time - AGAIN. I jsut finished zpac what? a week, 2 weeks ago, and that was after he made me wait to get tested for the virus before prescribing antibiotics :( Anyway - I remembered, did you suggest the neti pot? Loo did also, but I did use it and then, duh, brat style, immediately forgot about it :/

I got that little sucker out and flushed my sinuses and so much better already : ) Good old salt water rinse. Do you do that for the little ones?? I meant to do it to help myself with allergies - so was just wondering if you had suggested it to me and, if you had, reminding you and see if you use it for the kids ; )

hugs, I hate the scary stuff xxx I love not needing the dcotor and i love you xoxo

I believe Loo suggested the netti pot and I seconded. Hubby thinks it is gross. It is, but not as gross as a sinus infection. Netti gross is definitely the lesser evil to my senses. Hubby tries allot of my homeopathic remedies, but he trusts modern medicine. Works for me if it works for him. Healing hopes for all. No exceptions.

I haven't tried it on any little ones, yet. I let them watch, but they haven't been too curious. They watch with silent mystification. It's hard enough to explain to adults. If they ask, I will try to teach them.
