Fear Of Being Homeless
For years I was fearful of being homeless - it was always in the back of my mind.
My husband and I lived in a block of great old homes in the Mid-Wishire are of Los Angeles. The area around it had deteriorated greatly - lots of homeless, etc.
Because grocery carts were often taken from the grocery store parking lots - the stores began to offer a quarter for the return of the carts.
Usually the people who would follow me to my car, to make sure they got my cart, were youngish men - of all colors - and definitely well muscled - sort of "bruisers" for want of a better term.
Well - amongst those guys was this little old woman - about 4'10" - with a gray wig plopped askew on her head - and there she was - fighting these bruisers for carts. She would muscle in there with the best of them and grab carts to make her money.
God bless her - I then realized that no matter how bad things got - I too could find a way to survive and make the rent - no matter what.
If it had not been for that sweet little lady - I might still be scared of being homeless some day.

I\'m sure that won\'t happen to you. You will find the means to do what you need to do. Trust in the Lord and he will provide for you. I\'m glad that old woman inspired you.
Lots of hugs, Jean
Just don\'t sign anything over to the adult kids or it could be a possibility :-)
What a touching story ! I think we all worry about that possibilty now and then, especially when you have health issues. Take care Jean !
I have been homeless, When I had to relocate to another state because of safety issues, I had to go live in a domestic violence shelter. At that time I had to leave a job I loved, and go to another state. I didn\'t know anyone. I was alone...I had no job, no place to live, no car, no phone and no friends. I wasn\'t on the street, but, I didn\'t have a home for a while. We are survivors. Twelve years later, and I am much better now. However, I am proud the way I handled my homelessness. It wasn\'t the best time of my life, but, it help builded my character, so, it really wasn\'t the worst in my life. I got another chance to live.

It\'s strange how in touch we are even though thousands of miles away. I use to be afraid of being homeless too but once I got away from the \"evil little troll\" my fear of that like my fear of him vanished.
luv m.
oh and your pups give them a few minutes and then call \"cookie\" - the 1st on back gets it THEN you get another one for the other pup LOL
