nice and warm all day and then the rain started. i guess we are getting in rain, what the north east got in snow? not too bad yet though. hope it just goes out into the ocean.
been watching the small dog like a hawk right now until the gate is up -- lol. i think she is in shock because normally she's allowed to spend a LOT of time on the deck on her own.
its payroll day today and we had a conference as well (i SUCK at conferences. never liked sales meetings much either, but they are still more do-able. i also hate interviews that are done "conference" style, where its YOU against ten of them. they TOTALLY suck. those are usually "second" interviews and it totally throws me. i can handle the one on one interview and one against two, though i'd rather not, but ten against one, i'm gone. i'd prefer a written test, like some companies do, over a conference interview any time. so today sucked as well. lots of bad days lately.
rn called with houses for a to look at and in better spirits which means money must have come in for her. talked to rita-mia for p. p is at her sister's in orlando at the minute for the rest of the week. wonder how that is going. they are ten years apart and never get along, normally. you can't trust her sister. her sister used to love to instigate trouble for p. serious trouble, even as kids. amazing how much trouble people have from evil siblings, if their siblings are evil. why allow people like that into your life during adulthood. did it ever occur to them to simply AVOID the evil in their life PERMANENTLY regardless of who that "evil" is. you only live once.
rm says that p has stage one Alzheimer's, i thought you had to be really old to get that? before rn hurt her back, rn ran a ward for that where she worked as a nurse. so i asked her and she says some people get Alzheimer's in their 40's. wth? i've heard of alcohol dementia in a person's 40's but i never knew you could get Alzheimer's. p is older than that though, more like 60's. rn says, if you get it at a younger age they go downhill quickly. since p had an abusive stepfather and an abusive second husband, (it was the third husband that was the good one and he died 8 years ago. in my opinion she started losing it right after that, then two of her kids died of cancer - so she has had a death about every two years since her husband died). after the daughter died last year p was so gone, i was wondering recently, if all of it was from a mini stroke as p has had high blood pressure for years. but mia says its from alzheimer's. i wonder if physical injuries to the head can also bring on alzheimer's? i know physical injury to the head can bring on dementia and it can bring on cataracts. amazing all the crap that happens on this phaze 2 (as in phaze 2 - after age 40) side of life.
i was horrified when p told me her sister had decided to move to florida. at least she had the good grace to move to orlando instead of around p - but why is p visiting her at all? yuck. if p's husband was still alive it wouldn't go on. even if the sister just called p, he used to get pissed off. when i suggested to p, she just not associate with her at all, back when p was still normal, she seemed surprised at the idea and her husband was like SEE. told you - he'd been saying the same thing to her for YEARS. then p said there was no way away from it because her own kids would give out her address or phone number because her sister acts nice to them. the solution is obvious, she should have cut it off YEARS ago before her kids had a relationship with her, but p's life is so complicated, who knows if she could have anyway.
i said to her she should have retired in california or hawaii, its far enough that it should keep her away. she didn't seem to think it would though. on the other hand, if p has alzheimer's, the sister won't be able to get through to p anymore at all and p won't remember what her sister says. doesn't mean her sister won't go after p's property, why else would her sister show up here, they have never been friendly at all? its very suspicious. she is from the north east.

I\'m not sure I have this all exactly, but if P is a family member, someone ought to be designated as P\'s surrogate. Get control over P\'s money, or believe me, it is chaos if P should become incapable before P dies, or even after. Trying to get in touch with a person\'s estate assets with no will is a stupid circus.
