My favorite singer in the whole wide world is/has been Mr. Johnny Cash! I got hooked on him as a child, I have ALL his music!
If you have not seen the movie "Walk the Line"...please check it out! I have the movie memorized!!!!
One of my favorite parts was when Mr. cash went to Folsom to record live. He and the warden were standing in the back before Johnny sent on stage:
Warden says: "Mr. Cash? When you go out there tonight, don't sing no songs that reminds them, the inmates that is, of where they are at."
Johnny replies: "Why warden? You think they forgot?"
Priceless! Classic!

I saw some of the movie but not all of it. My hubby watched it all though and loves it as well!
Believe it, or not, I was named after one of his songs.
Remember his show? On his show, he would do stories from around the country and then sing a song about that story. He also did an album with these songs on it. My dad loved this name from one of those songs. The song was, \"Dorraine, of Punchatrain.\" This is a lake near New Orleans.
The story is of the Acadians who were Moved by the British many years ago. There was a couple who moved to the New Orleans\'s area. There stayed true to each other. They went out to the lake to have a picnic and got into a fight. Dorraine rowed out on the lake. The lake is notorious for unusual weather and storms. I forgot the part where the guy pinned a rose on her dress. Well, any way, she rowed out on the lake and one of those wild storms came up.
The Guy then says that all he ever saw of her, later, was the rose he pinned on her dress. How sad. But, a wonderful love story. My dad liked Johnny Cash and that name so much, he named my that.
My first name, Mary, is for my grandmother. My second name, Dorraine, is from that song.

This is great! Did not know so many of friends also had a connection to my idol! Believe it or not, I have to listen to a least one of his songs daily!
I am a huge fan also - and I have seen the movie - awesome!!! Even last weeks episode of \"person of interest\" played the song \"hurt\" at the beginning.
Hi, Loved the movie \"Walk The Line\". Read a book about his life and it was amazing. Shows what a person can do even if they\'ve had a difficult life ....God gave Johnny a gift and he used it!
When you mentioned Johnny Cash and the movie \"Walk The Line\", my first thought was the song \"Folsom Prison Blues\" and the great part in the movie at the prison.

A friend of mine sings opera and she loves pop, and blues and also Johnny Cash! Music is such a wonderful gift from God and I\'m always amazed that will just do, re, me, fa, so, la, ti, do and a few other notes,

Whenever June Carter Cash sadly passed away on 5/15/2003..my father said that Johnny would not live long now...on 9/12/2003..Johnny also entered Heaven to be with June.
Guess it is true....if you find your soulmate and then sadly lose them..........
