Father\'s Day

Happy Father's Day to all the Father's Day's out there!! A special Happy Father's Day to OUR FATHER. One to my Dad, one to my brother. Both deceased but never out of my heart.Weird thing the heart is. As much as my ex has hurt me, I gave him a Father's Day card every year. Even when I was in trouble for some unGODLY reason. He has an ex wife that he had a boy and a girl with. The son has NOTHING to do with him. I do give myself credit for his daughter being in what little contact she has with him. I now understand, even though I thought I was being neutral as far as she was concerned, why she didn't pursue child support for over 16 years. If she pursued support, that would give my ex a role in thier lives, a role that wouldn't have been positive. Example: She got married at the age of 18. They had only been in contact, seldom I might add, and invited him to her wedding. Because she was having the man she knew all those years as DAD give her away, he didn't attend because he was the biological father. It hurt her very much. I tried to explain why she chose her Dad over her Father but there is only a one way street as far as he is concerned. I gave him the card from our dog, which was a son to me. I have no children. The acts he put upon Tyko and me, Tyko was my "son's" name, I lost Tyko on Feb. 19 of this year. Tyko was 17 yrs old but had so much more time to go. Undo stress on an old dog killed him. I lost him shortly after I got out of the hospital with heart trouble brought on by my ex "killing" himself over the phone. I lost my "son" and almost lost my life as well. Then why am I feeling sorrow knowing that he probably hasn't even heard from his daughter. And I didn't send him a card or anything. Noone probably acknowledged Father's Day to him. I feel sorry for him but am not going to wish him a happy Father's Day because of that or because of him. It is because I want to and feel the need to. So, Happy Father's Day, Homer. Be well.
