Father's Day

He asked if he and the children could take my dog with them to the beach. Oh, boy. i had really thought that I would at least have the DOG today! I thought we might go to the dog beach in Chicago to pass the time. But, the girls really wanted the dog to go, too so I let them take him.  (he has just recently discovered that he loves to fetch sticks in the lake)STBX wasn't prepared so I wrote out directions for him to find the beach in Indiana. He hadn't bothered to go on the computer to look it up. Had  a daughter call when he couldn't find it and I gave her directions by phone. No thanks. I could hear his raised voice in the background- irritated because- what? I didn't print a mapquest for him, perhaps? Even now- he likes to find fault with me... I tried to mow the lawn. Mower isn't working. Borrowed a neighbor's. Odd, odd, queer day. I want my girls and yet when they get home they will feel odd, too, and I will both want to hear about their day and NOT want to hear about the day-trip- that used to be a typical family trip. Tomorrow can't get here soon enough.
