Far Far Away

If I had a clue where to go where things could be different.... civil... fair... and some semblance of normalcy... I would go in a heartbeat. I have been in PA my entire life though not so happy with the direction things are taking for years now. We have been under direction of a Governor who now is throwing his weight around once again. Now he has tested positive for covid. So it seems he wants to SHUT OUR STATE DOWN FOR THE NEXT MONTH.

After the year we ALL have had and all the nonsense back and forth, when we are in the final month of this year ... and it did seem many were trying to find some comfort with family, friends and gathering for the holidays and looking forward to better times.... he does have to be sure to let all know that we are forced to listen to him (whether we want to or not) From the week after the election here in PA (I say week because I had to include those 3 extra days PAST ELECTION DAY that HE  and all the crooked ones had to create and mail in and count to shift our votes thus leaving him alone and assuring his buddy Biden would be pushed in)... they would change the rules from day to day.

Instead of lookinf forward to the New Year many are dreading it. One  of the college kids did tell his Mom of Wolf's plans. In the next breath he did say they have called out the National Guard to train them with gas masks as they are expecting this to possibly hit rioting.... So why in the fuck would they let the asshole continue to pull shit that will only make things more tense and possibly dangerous?

There is something to be said --- and the biggest thing that bothers me ( and many others) is the fact that we do not want a dictator telling us what we have to do because this is what HE wants. Around here, I would say 70 % have had enough and are willing to continue to take precautions. The thing is, it is so wide spread there are not many it has not touched. But all I know have gotten throygh it and are fine. It does slow some  down and take awhile to bounce back, but it is not a death sentence. There are still the other 30 %who are very cautious and choose to isolate. If that is their choice, then they should be able to. What happened to all of our freedoms and rights?

Sorry, I am just so damn pissed and frustrated. This is part of what I am dealing with, along with the isolation, loneliness and just  feeling there is nowhere to turn to. Sad thing is. come January there is no escape anywhere in the US. I had a thought of journeying outside the US, but it seems the same in other countries as well. I do wish there was a small secluded island ... ah well, I can dream (still ALLOWED to do that)

sorry, but I needed to vent.  :(

I am so with you. I'm in Michigan and our governor is an idiot too. I am praying that all the fear will lead many people to think about eternity and realize what really matters: a relationship with Jesus the Savior. That's what I'm trying to focus on now, in this Christmas season. I am going to have family to dinner, regardless of restrictions, and I'm hoping to attend my church's Christmas Eve service. We have to sign up ahead of time, though, and I can't predict when my family will leave so I can attend. Will have to figure that out. But I can watch it online if nothing else. Maybe you would enjoy some online services too--https://www.facebook.com/springarborfm/videos/721717055445317 or https://www.facebook.com/watch/springarborfm/ I hope some Christmas joy will come your way in spite of all the ridiculous stuff going on. Wishing you blessings.

Move out west everyone... I’m not saying California, but we do have conservative states that do want to see their economies grow and not be in the pit of despair and loss of freedom. The east sucks. I’ve lived out there, I don’t want to return unless I am vacationing!

We all need to vent once in awhile because we all get discouraged at times. In my view, we are never really alone but it sure does seem that way, I know .......but every religion and spirituality in the world, will tell us that we all have a guardian angel....and some believe we have a whole crew or them that are constantly helping us navigate through the obstacle course we call life.

When I think of all my former classmates who are now gone and when I think of all the close calls I have had in my life and the many times I tried to speed up the inevitable with my addictions and the abuse I put my body through......well that only tells me one thing.....and that is.....that my life has a purpose in being here........and that some Higher Power is telling me through His actions in all of this that He wants me to be exposed to this one and that one...and also this person named Kim, because we think they will help you to become a better person! So thankyou for being here Kim!....and everyone else on DS!

God Bless

I live in Ontario and we are in various stages of shutdown. In fact, various part of the country is too. How many more deaths and hospitals being overloaded with cases before people understand and care. The economy will bounce back but once our health is gone, it is gone. This virus is deadly. I have had a few friends that have succumbed to it. A horrible way to go. It does not discriminate. We have to wear a mask and it is working. I rather look silly and stay healthy than sick with worry. What kind of economy would there be if people are too sick to work.

Here we heard the Attorney General of Texas was actually the one bold enough to take those states who seem to have dishonest issues with voter fraud to the Supreme Court. (I am ashamed to say PA is the top of the list. ) To challenge and omit those votes accumulated and counted after election day. Allowing for extra days to MAIL AND POST after the fact tells you one thing.... they are planning on padding the numbers. There were also times when conservatives were not allowed to watch over the counting and registering of the votes... Isn't it funny? Our Atty Gen and Governor were the ones who extended the date for an extra 3 days to postmark and then count the votes. I know people who received multiple ballots to mail in. Where I am, we are honest and wouldn't do that. I have serious doubts that others who just want things their way would not think twice.

I think back to when the big O was in.. Then I felt the same as now. I heard Texas was considering seceding from the union--- I was halfway there. lol

Like I said, I can dream. lol

You aren’t alone in feeling isolated and longing to do what you want. We are not meant to exist like this. It’s not in our nature. I feel you 100% on that.

I’m in Wisconsin which is part of the TX lawsuit. I don’t know how I feel about that. I am concerned about voting fraud with respect to Mail-in ballots and counting/observing. What I don’t like is another state speaking for my state. Our governor is a putz, but he’s our putz, haha! The two largest counties in Wisconsin are predominantly blue and the rest of the state probably mostly red. So we’ve often had a republican governor. We have a democratic governor now but the state as a whole could go either way depending on the election cycle, I think. So it’s interesting in terms of our politics sometimes.

I believe in state’s rights. Because of that, I don’t have an issue with governors doing what they think is right based on data and facts. Governors govern. That’s their job. I think our governor is lackluster. But also think right now, between COVID and politics, everyone has lost their damn minds, on all sides.

I think we have to really remind ourselves that “fair” is sometimes subjective, and often based on a person’s perspective and their own experience
and point of view. Your idea of fair is not always going to be another person’s version of fair. I think people gotta get over feeling everything is personal. There is no public official who really cares about citizens on an individual, personal level. I don’t care who is in office or running for office. That’s why putting our happiness in the hands of politicians and people in office is so misguided. I also think it deflects from taking responsibility for our own selves and our own happiness. My husband gets annoyed with me that I’m not ranting and raving more about politics. I have pretty good access to my anger but I feel like it’s such a waste of energy getting so pissed about politics. So many other things piss me off:Animal /elder/ child neglect and abuse, kids who live in extreme poverty, things that really are not fair. Putting my anger toward ideology just seems a waste of good rage. I do though love a good rant!

Rmb you have said it so well. No matter who is in that seat, they are all the same. Maybe a few variants but basically the same. Canada has a Liberal Prime Minister, wow You hear him talk, you would feel like you are being talked to like you were a kid. I tune them out. The Conservative leader is full of himself. hehehe. Yes they know my opinion. Called and let them know. But we really need to take back our lives. Stop waiting for them to tell us what to do or not do. Use common sense. my friend. I have been wearing a mask for almost a year now, Do I like it no, but it is for my health and those around me. I still go out.
