Family needing prayers
Mom came out from OH for almost 3 weeks for the holidays. We had a jolly good time. She had so much on her to-do list to cross off before going back to cold and depressing OH it really wore me out. As she was leaving I told her to go see her doc that gives her shots in her knees (she was in pain all the time) and inquire about knee replacement surgery. Especially since we plan on moving her back to Hawaii once hubby and I get settled in Maui.
As soon as she got back, she saw her doc and got x-rays, etc, he made the recommendations for double knee replacement, and for ASAP. He said he doesn't know how she can walk, they are in such bad shape! So she is going through the screenings right now, blood work, physical, to make sure she is OK to have the 1st surgery. I told her it was better this way, that she get them all knocked out before moving. At least she is in a facility that can handle her care. Please pray for her that the surgeries all go smoothly and she recovers quickly from both!
In other news, got frantic messages on my phone yesterday while running errands that something happened to my youngest bro and he was in the ER and cops were at the house. So I left my friends there, and went home to make calls and find out what happened. After being on the phone for 2 hrs talking to different family members, it seems my SIL had some kind of psychotic break. Each person that called me was a little vague on exactly happened so I had to piece together the story. From what I understand, my youngest brother was laying in bed with my SIL and fell asleep. She asked for some attention, but he wouldn't wake up? So she dragged him out of bed where he banged his head on the floor causing a concussion! And when that wasn't good enough for her, she straddled him, pinned his arms down and tried to suffocate him!?!!?
My other brother who lives with them just happened to be home and heard a commotion and cries for "help" tried to get in the bedroom but couldn't so called 911. My youngest brother was taken to the ER where he was dx with a concussion. He got a protective order against her and police escorted her off the property! She should be in jail right now for trying to kill my brother!!
My youngest brother told me he is trying to figure out what this means for their 1 yr/o son. I feel really bad for children that get caught up in their parents problems. Last year out of the blue sky, my SIL took their baby, packed up most of her and the son's clothing, even some of the furniture and moved back in with her parents in NJ. At that time she banned him from seeing his child. It was really strange. The only way I could convince her to come "visit" her husband and bring the baby was if I helped pay for the plane ticket, which I did, because I felt for my brother. So I wouldn't be surprised if out of spite she takes the kid again one of these days. Please pray for my brother, he is traumatized and shaken up about the attack.
I have some GOOD news.... my husband and I finally started going to counseling. Last week was our 1st day, except the 1st day wasn't really counseling but a bunch of questions for us and filling out paperwork. Today will be our 1st session. I'm really happy to finally start working on our issues!

Blue, that\'s a lot of drama and worry, so take care of you, okay? Glad your mom can get the knee replacements:-) As for your SIL---well, the police being called in is a good thing. Even if she\'s not in jail, it\'s good they are aware. I\'d say your bro should get the son away from her and get a protective order to keep her from the baby, too, to be safe.

hello::: belated Happy New Year wishes. I hope all that you\'re going thru now and the past few days will be just a vague memory soon, never to happen again. I\'m so happy that you and your husband are mature and open enough to go to counselling. That\'s such a great investment in a solid future.
I hope all turns out well for your brother and wife, but mostly for him and the baby. I think with your guidance, and you seem to have a lot of close family members, you might be able to sort it out and even get the baby with one of you.
I started to write, that my hubby had knee surgery too about 4 years ago. And it\'s very common. He only had the one knee done though with a Zimmer replacement. It\'s worth going thru if that\'s the last resort, and to end the pain.
