False Alarm About Work

I went in to take the typing test today, and they said I had to come back in tomorrow for an appointment. So tomorrow before I go into work I have to take the test. They said it's just for a general thing, not for a specific job. So as for now, no job in sight. I was thinking about applying at other places, but I really don't want to. I really like it there, and if Geo and I have to scratch by on what we have, then that's the way it's going to be. I may have no money for my trip to LA, but I can be cheap while there. I don't have to spend a lot of money. I don't have a lot of things I want to buy there anyway. I normally go and spend a bunch of money on food and tea at Trader Joe's, but I can wait. I haven't been drinking the teas I do have. I know my stepdad will take care of my food needs, so that's not a problem. It's just going out with people that I have to limit. I can do it, though. It's worth it to have a good, stable place to be at where I feel good working there.
I went in again to volunteer today after they said I couldn't take the typing test. I was already dressed in my volunteer outfit, so I decided to stay. I did leave early because I got a ride home with my boss. She lives right across from me, so she doesn't have a problem giving me a ride. I live down the street from the clinic and I was going to walk, but she insisted on giving me a ride since it had been raining and she didn't want me to get caught in the rain. That's how nice the people at the clinic are... I don't think I could find that sort of kindness anywhere else. Plus, it's a low income clinic, so people there need more help than at a regular clinic. I want to be where I'm needed the most. My other boss said that he wanted me in the appointment setting position, since that's what I've been practicing and it's what I'm good at. My boss let me set more appointments today, and I did some call backs too. I'm getting used to it, and my bosses are letting me work the desk on my own now.
Volunteering really has given me confidence in my skills. I just wish I didn't need so much sleep so I could work full time. I'm thinking about it, about trying, but I'm not sure. I got 10 hours of sleep last night, and I did okay today. Actually, I did good today. I didn't go for my walk like I wanted to, but I did get to volunteer for a couple hours and made chicken soup from scratch. I didn't get anything on my list from yesterday done, but I did get other stuff done, so that's good. I'm just going to go for my long walk on Saturday. I want to start going in every day from 12 to 5, and see how that goes. I know I'm not needed that early, but I want to see. Maybe tomorrow I can try going in at 8am and see how that goes. I'm sure they will be surprised to see me there that early, but I can try. I can set my alarm for 7am and see how I feel. I have been wanting to try out a full day, and I think I can do it. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night, and I have enough energy today, so I think I can give it a shot.
Mood today has been good again... I have energy, I'm feeling good. I was feeling a bit sick physically when I was cooking dinner, but I think that was from standing too long. I had to cut up the onion and the chicken, and keep stirring the soup. It was worth it though, because the soup came out really good. I hope there is some left for breakfast tomorrow. I think doing more is good for me. I need to be more active. I just felt good today, not even that stressed when I was presented with situations at work that I didn't know how to handle. I just rolled with the punches.
Food today has been good... I got my calories in, yay! That's 3 days in a row now that I've met my calorie goal. I did it by eating a cinnamon roll at work, but whatever. I met my calories, and I got in my veggies with the veggies I put in the soup. I'm low on fat today, which you need for your cells to build, but I think that I can be okay with it for one day to be low. I don't know how to make it show on the computer that I ate the skin of the chicken to give myself more fat. I think I should just put that I ate butter or something so it can log it. I've actually started getting hungry again, so I think I'm coming out of the Fall Funk. I hope so, so I can feel better and get stuff done. I have a bunch of stuff that needs to get done, and I don't feel like doing it when I'm depressed so it doesn't get done. Sleep was good, even though it was shorter than normal, and stress was low like I talked about above. Looks like things are looking up, even if things at work aren't moving the way I want them to!
