Failed

I was married for 13 years. The week after Mother's day 2009, my husband divorced me. I feel like a failure. He was mad because I chose to go back to school and finish my education in the medical field to earn more money for the family. We have one child in second grade. He chose money over me and now my son and I are living in an apartment and wondering why he did this. I am a failure as a mother and a wife.

you are not a failure as a mother or a woman for that matter. If he left you for wanting to better your lives, then he is the failure.
You are an amazing woman, I bet you are sitting staring at your son while he sleeps just praying eveything will be ok. That makes you a GREAT mother! Stay strong!

I agree with luvinmomhood, you are not a failure. Your only failure was that you believed your husband and he let you down, as he could not respect your natural wish to educate and work. You are not guilty as you believed in love and he must have been the different man 13 years ago. But people do change and we must accept it. When you do, everything will be easier for you. But it takes time, I know that. I know how you feel.
Be strong

I know how it feels to beat yourself up for things that we shouldn\'t. It hurts! I have been seperated from my true love for a while now and am staying with my mom because I cannot be alone because of my severe seizures. I felt like I failed and scared him away but I know now that I did nothing wrong. Just keep believing in yourself and your boy and your spirit will show you the way. Keep Strong! Much Love. Kristie
