Exposure Progress Summary up to 8/28/08

The entry is a reminder to myself that I have progressed since beginning exposure work in July. In July, I had little experience on any highways at all. In about four weeks I was about to: Ride on 76 multiple times with ease. 76 is becoming my new easy highway. I even get impatient when there is traffic. I want to ride faster on it. Ride on much of 476 with ease. Ride over the Ben Franklin Bridge comfortably. Comfort with the Atlantic City Expressway and southern portions of the Garden State Parkway. All that is the good news. When I had a gap in driving, I developed fear and relapsed. I need to relearn much of what I did before. Good news is I went on 476 and after 1.5 hours I was comfortable riding on the highway. What encourages me is my motivation despite my anticipatory anxiety. In the past I have wanted to give up. This time I don't. That is probably the most important thing. I hope I can keep this up.
