 This is similar to reading biographies but it's a compressed discussion... an external analysis of psychologists perceived/possible personalities, motivations, world view, perspectives on human nature...

The book I chose for this is "Psychologists on Psychology" by David Cohen. I'm really looking forward to reading THIS one!
