A new addition to the festival is Mardi Gras + Qtopia, featuring a range of exhibitions, experiences and performances including ‘They Will Be Kings’ and ‘I Want It That Gay’. Fair Day makes a return to Victoria Park after an unexpected hiatus in 2024, set to bring in more than 200 food, retail and community stalls as well as showing off the best of our four-legged friends in Doggywood. In 2025, Trans Camp and the Karaoke Cave are set to make their Fair Day debut as well.
Mardi Gras Party returned once more as the adult playground of pleasure and performance came to life at the biggest overnight LGBTQIA+ party in Australasia. Sissy Ball allows for Vogue families born out of safety and necessity to find their home on stage as thousands chant their calls for a night of drama, karma and sensation. The Ceremony played witness to the first light of our Festival rainbow pom poms cheer hitting unceded Aboriginal Land, as Aunty Nadeena Dixon Welcomed us to Country with a Smoking Ceremony, and dancers from the Buuja Buuja-Butterfly Dance Group. The 2025 Festival theme FREE TO BE is a celebration of the strides toward true LGBTQIA+ equality while also acting as a global reminder that our fight is far from over, and that we are not truly free until we are all free to be.
Oxtravaganza/Darlo Big Drag Brunch – An eclectic two-week fringe festival featuring nightly performances, art showcases, a family zone and more. Returning from 2023 is Darlo Big Drag Brunch, as Oxford Street and surrounds is taken over by Drag Brunches. Hot Trans Summer – A trans and gender-diverse takeover of floating, luxury venue Glass Island. Set to be a celebration of the trans and gender-diverse community, boasting an all-trans line-up. Bondi Beach Party – A beachside celebration which captured hearts art Sydney WorldPride. Bringing together 15,000 revellers Wirth Bondi Beach as the backdrop for international DJs and performances.
