Exhausting Boyfriend's Family Time
Well, as expected I hung out with my boyfriend's family last night and this morning for brunch. I am exhausted.
Friday night we went out with my boyfriend's cousin and they all drank and carried on. I just sat there are drank my watermelon seltzer and didn't touch a drop of alcohol in the bar or the restaurant, but then was able to save the day by driving my drunk boyfriend home so that was good. Advantages to a sober girlfriend is you always have a sober driver. Of course I don't always feel like driving drunk people around so luckily my boyfriend doesn't ask this of me very often.
I was proud of myself for maintaining my sobriety in a bar. I definitely felt luckier and happier then the people drinking by the end of the night.
This morning it was just a bunch of my boyfriend's enormous family in a Mexican restaurant having a very tasty buffet. Chilaquiles, enchiladas, mole, so good. His family is really nice to me. I like them a lot.
Of course, by the time we got home from across town where the gathering was both of us were exhausted. My boyfriend is asleep on the couch right now and I am up typing on the computer as I love to do when I am being an Introvert.
I think we are done with activity for the weekend. That's something i enjoy about dating a 50 year old man, he moves at a slower pace then I do so it's always very chill. We have compatible levels of laziness. Lol. As I was remarking to my friend, well, it's the weekend, guess Ill just watch television with my boyfriend instead of by myself.
I should be working on NaNoWriMo and I may get back to it if I get a second wind. As my boyfriend is asleep this does seem like a good time for it. I am just exhausted though. The sheer effort of maintaining an appropriate veneer for that long is exhausting. I may only be ready for Twitter and DS tonight.

Nice work on maintaining sobriety when everyone else is drinking. I am a recovering alcoholic myself so I can relate to the challenge.
