excited

On Tuesday, we fly to Ottawa.  If Cevyn has not delivered, she will be induced on Thursday.  My beautiful granddaughter amazes me every day.  She is carrying close to 12 pounds of babies but is as calm as can be.  I am afraid I would not be so serene.  Her boyfriend is incredible.  He is 19 but has stepped up - despite the fact that he is very anxious.  He has attended all her appointments and is getting excited.  Cevyn has a good relationship with Brendan's parents now.  They were skeptical at first but now are as excited as the rest of us!  I am looking forward to meeting them when we are in Ottawa.

With Christmas so close, I was selfishly hoping that she would come here (her dad and stepmom are coming to Calgary to spend Christmas with her kids) but Cevyn has decided to spend it with Brendan's family.  I was upset for a short while but I think it is great that they are going to spend time with his family.

A friend called today to say that she is coming to Calgary for most of January.  She said she will be happy to move in and cat sit if we want to go away in January.  We just might go back to Ottawa.

So many emotions.  It hurts like the dickens that Lisa is not here to love her granddaughters.  I said it before and I will say it again.  Lisa would be the most awesome grandmother.  She would be over the moon.  I just hope that Brendan's mom will be a good granny and love those girls as much as Lisa would.  I am the great grandmother and live 2000 kilometers away so won't be there to watch them grow.  I just want those girls to be loved like their Grandmother Lisa would love them.

Lisa:  I know you are with your peanut and her babes.  It just hurts me so much that you won't be here to love them and cuddle them and do crafts with them.  It just isn't right.  I know you are with me too.  You sent the chirpy birds that visited this morning.  They were so pretty!  And this evening as we were about to walk to the pub with the neighours.  The cloud formations were other worldly.  The 6 of us were just blown away!  You are so loved and missed.

I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

How wonderful and Lisa will definitely be there! I was with my daughter Emily during both her labours and I felt very strongly Catherine's presence! Much love to you.

How exciting. Do you know if the girls are identical or fraternal? Such a blessed thing to be having a baby and twice as blessed for twins. I'll be looking for you posts on Thursday.

What an exciting time and one I know is filled with so many emotions. Safe travels dear Marlene and of course you wish Lisa were here as do I. These joyous occasions are filled with so much hope as the circle of life continues and are also a reminder of our losses. Tears always flow for me at these births... Such a miracle!

With you dear Marlene, and sending positive thoughts and prayers for this young couple who are about to begin a brand new adventure, parenthood. One of the most fulfilling and humbling indeed.

Much love to each of you,
XO Joanie

It is exciting! I am so glad you and Joe will be there for her. I truly believe my grandchildren can feel their mother's presence in me and that it helps them and I think Cevyn will see and feel her mom's presence through you all. The people who first knew and loved Lisa her whole life... Looking forward to pictures.

I hurt as it gets closer to time for Elizabeth to give birth. I hurt more for Elizabeth as I know you do for Cevyn. Elizabeth and I have been talking on the phone and I pray in that way I bring a bit of her mom into her world. Elizabeth's dad is going to be in the delivery room. He was hesitant at first then he sent a text telling her he had thought about it and if she still wanted him to be there he wanted to be there. When she told me about it, she was wondering if people would think it was weird. I believe, as I told her, her dad had to pick up and be both mother and father for her for many years. It actually had started before Cara died as she was caught up in her addiction really badly that last year. I told her I thought she should tell anyone who didn't understand it to see themselves out quickly... yes I phrased it a bit more colorfully than that...

Safe travels, hugs and prayers for all of you.

Hi Marlene, I am so excited for your family! So wonderful that Brendan is a good guy and his family is supportive.
I am a great Gram now too and as you, it breaks my heart that Ed isn't here for his grandies. He would have adored them and doted on them. Yet another layer of sadness since our kids left. I tell myself I can do his job in his honor...be that doting grandparent and that helps me to feel a bit better. But no matter how positively we "spin" it, it is a tragedy that Lisa and Ed are not here to enjoy (and spoil, lol) their grandbabies. Tight hugs, Linda
