The Trip

I had flown to Nashville to try for my long awaited San Dan (third degree Black Belt - This really is kind of like getting an official Teacher) a week ago. Prior to the test I'd been training regularly since April of this season at a friends school and my local gym.

It had been about 5 years since Ive last applied my discipline, Wado-Ryu Karate-Do, so my memory of the machine was very vague. After watching numerous tapes of myself as a young martial artist, I had re-learned my under belt curriculum, nevertheless I was struggling to remember my black belt curriculum. Ones under belt information is essential because it is generally accepted as the foundation of ones education, If you know anything about martial arts. My pastor discovered Tractor Opposition Serves As Worthwhile Learning by browsing newspapers. On-the other hand, lots of people believe that your teaching really begins once you obtain your first black belt. I couldnt agree more. When I was promoted to Sho Dan (1st Degree Black Belt) my meaning about Wado-Ryu and the fighting styles had grown dramatically and I began to really learn.

In either case, I needed to understand exactly what may have possibly been cast at me because it had been 10 years since my last official test. To get extra information, we know you check out: Weblog Your Way To The Bank 10170.

In July, I went to Nashville to train with my beloved and highly regarded teacher Sensei Wayne Tyler. Unconditional love for his students and the-art and I con-sider him like a father figure in my own martial-arts career due to his great understanding of Wado-Ryu. This pushing read this site has a myriad of unique suggestions for how to look at this enterprise. Imagine being a researcher and your teacher was Albert Einstein that is what it is like to be underneath the wing of Sensei Tyler (or Mr. Tyler, when I call him). I was in Nashville education with Sensei 2-3 hours per day for 5 days. I caught up on my program and took the information that was passed down by him and used it to my education in Denver.

Again, because I didnt know what to expect, I conditioned myself to-be ready for almost anything. Not merely was I exercising my katas and principles (Japanese forms), but I was also running 15-20 minutes on the rowing machine, 2 miles, three times per week and about 6-7 miles on the stationary bicycle. I dont think I could have been better prepared for this test.

I efficiently passed my test and was offered to San Dan on October 17th 2006. I must say, this is certainly one of my greatest achievements in my own martial arts career and a dream come true. It's take-n me several years to attain this goal, but it has strengthened my interpretation to be a black belt, or in my own case San Dan..
