Ex wife lost her job
And I probably shouldn't have but I did text her and told her I was sorry to hear about that.. She had the job for 17 years, she got it right after our daughter was born. While I do feel bad for her there's really not much I can do? My daughter was upset over it but I'm not sure why I texted her it was probably a stupid move. Oh well I guess I just wanted to show her that I still do care about her but it's really not my problem I guess. I'm sure she is freaking out and upset since she just signed her apartment lease, I guess this is one of those moments where it gets kind of confusing if I should say anything or not..? We were together 24 years so I kind of felt like I should've said something instead of just ignoring it..who knows

I dont see anything wrong with letting her know youre sorry to hear that it shows u do have compassion some people dont even have that now days , hang in there!
You cannot just drop 24 years in a few months. It does show compassion and I understand why you texted her. Stay strong. You are a good man.
Thanks for the kind words. It\'s just hard after so long your supposed to just let go but then u hear they are suffering a bad blow and u want to show some kind of compassion. I didn\'t feel any joy or anything at all to hear she lost her job I felt sick for her. I guess that\'s natural or just being human maybe. I know she\'s probably pretty distraught but I can\'t help. Makes me sad
You did a nice thing to express what you did to her. Clearly you are a big hearted man.
Nothing wrong in what you did, was very kind of you. Your daughter will see that you are a good man and even though things did not work out for you and your ex you just set an example to your daughter. My parents divorced when I was a baby, I can remember when I was like 11 or 12, my dad got laid off work I went home crying to my mom because I was worried about him, my stepmom and baby brother. My mom calls my dad and tells him to not pay child support till he was working again and back on his feet. I was so proud of my mom, I cried in her arms thanking her over and over. Kids pay attention to things.
Thanks Amy I appreciate that :)
Nando, what a nice gesture by ur mom. My daughter did tell me she was happy I texted her mom so you are right, she did pick up on it. I do need to remember my ex is her mom..such a sad situation. Thanks for ur comments :)
Coop all of your actions show what type of man you are. I agree that there is no way in hell that in 5 or6 months you can erase 24 years. So I think it was only natural that you reach out to her. but I agree with Nando. your daughter looks at the man you are and it sets the bar for what kind of man she will want to be with when she gets older. A good man. She sees thru you Coop how a man should be. Stay true to who you are.
I think it was really nice that you did that and it also sets a good example for your Daughter. You can be cordial and friendly. Staying angry only hurts you.
