ex-daughter-in-law
I stopped by a little coffee shop where my ex-daught-in-law is working. She just got out of a ladies prison for drug related charges. She was married to my son, who was killed 4 years ago last July. They had been divorced for years. I did their wedding ceremony and she gave me my first grandchild. After she and my son divorced, she got into a lot of trouble, ran with a bad crowd and ended up being sent to prison for 6 years. When I found out she was in prison, I contacted her family and got her address. I wrote to her often while she was in prison. Today, I walked in the coffee shop and she saw me. She came to me, gave me a big hug and tears ran down her face. She and I visited for a while and we talked about a lot of things. She said she loved me and appreciated me writing to her and what it meant to her. She told me that I was a good man and that she would like to come to my church if that was ok. She cried and said I am a felon you know. I told her she wasn't a felon to me, she was a friend and that she was welcome to come to my church, anytime she wanted to. When i got ready to leave, she came to me again and gave me a big hug and shed more tears. She thanked me for coming by to see her and for me not shunning her, for what she had been involved in. This was a great visit and I am looking forward to her coming to my church.
