Everything's up in the air, again

The attorney called day before yesterday to tell me that someone doing an evaluation decided that Adam is not suitable for Shock after all. According to the attorney, this person was basing his decision on misinformation. So the attorney told me he would "do everything he can" to correct the situation. I was very, very upset. Adam called about ten seconds after the attorney and I hung up; this always happens- he has a sixth sense, I swear. I told him what I had heard. I really was unsure of whether to tell him or not. I hate givinghim bad news, I hate crying when he calls. I want to be strong and positive for him while he's in there. But I just went ahead and told him. He was calm, strong, and determined. He said he would sent a note to his counselor as well as the supervisor, and speak with them. We only get eight minutes to talk, so we had to wait until the visit the next day to really talk it over. That was yesterday. He was able to go to the law library after our phone call and look at the requirements for Shock. As we already knew, he meets them 100%. The clerk looked over the paperwork with him and assured him that he us eligible.
Shock is not offered to everyone. It is at the discretion of the DOC. I still haven't gotten any more info from the attorney regarding who the man is who he spoke with, or what to expect now. It's been an agonizing two days, honestly. The counselor Adam saw initially told him he is eligible for Shock, and we've been preparing for that. Now it seems like that is being held up for no good or valid reason. It's more uncertainty and strain.
I went to visit him again today, because as hard as this is for me, I can't even begin to imagine how he must feel.
I am praying that things get straightened out and they send him to Shock...quickly.

Arbitrary management and interpretation of the rules is the bane of our existence. I\'m sorry for what seems like a setback for you, and I hope that he gets started with the shock program soon.

Totally hate telling them bad news in short calls!

I hope he gets accepted. I\'m trying not to drive myself totally insane worrying about it. It would shorten his sentence a lot, so we\'re both very anxious.

Hang in there. Pray, and I will pray for you. God will lead the way. I have learned through my journey that we have to be patient, calm. We can not fix things, but give them to God.
