Everything\'s rolling our way!

This past Thursday morning the movers came and moved all our heavy stuff into the new apartment.  They sent 4 guys instead of 2 (two were in training) and got what we'd originally wanted moved done sooner than the 2 hour minimum we were paying for.  So they helped us move some of the other stuff until the time was up.  Bonus!!    A back leg of my nightstand broke in the move.  I remember something about it being weak or wobbly when it was delivered from the furniture store, but it wasn't a problem then so I forgot about it.  Thursday it fell off completely.  One of the movers grabbed his drill, said something about "working magic", and fixed it by repositioning the screws.  It's as solid as if it had never had a problem.  They got a good tip.    I gotta plug them.  They are local, so if you're in the Phoenix Metro area and have a move coming up, check out Avalon Moving Systems, http://www.avalonmovingsystems.com/ Our first night here it rained.  Not a sprinkle, but a heavy downpour for about 2 hours.  More rain in one time than we've seen in the 1 1/2 years we've been together, and more than I've seen in a few years before that.  Then it rained again last night.  We opened the windows and let all the good humid air in.  We couldn't do that in the other apartment because the minimal overhang let rain come in. Also, Thursday night, we went to a different Whole Foods than we've been using.  Oh, my!  *This* Whole Foods has MaraNatha Organic Creamy peanut butter in the No Salt version!  We've been looking for that since we fell in love with it in Mt. Shasta.  So far all we've found here in this huge metropolitan area was the salted type (bleeeh). Last night we watched a movie (A Bug's Life) with the bass ALL THE WAY UP!! First time we've felt the freedom to do that and it was wonderful. In our other apartment time seemed to pass in a blink.  I kid you not, it was not unusual for 3 hours to pass in fixing and eating supper.  There never seemed time to do anything because something that should only take a few minutes would eat up an hour in a heartbeat.  Now it seems time is back to normal.  Last night we put the 1 1/2 hour movie on at 8:30, then put on a crockpot meal, did dishes, checked e-mail, and were in bed by 11.  Time is back to normal. So, to recap:  We've discovered a fantastic mover that we will use when Eve's mom comes here in a month, or so.  We are getting more rain than we've gotten before.  Things take "normal time" again.  We found a most yummy peanut butter we've been looking for. Those are the high points.  There's a lot of little things, too.  Life is good.
