Every day it is one day closer to me getting the surgery and feeling great once again. I got news today that the four months I have been going to see my diabetes nutritionist may just count towards the six months medically supervised diet. If that is so I only need to complete two more months. She is also like my pcp willing to provide care for me before and after the surgery. She has cared for some patients that have had the surgery and is willing to work with the surgery center about making sure my needs are met so that I will not have to travel 2 hours one way for appointments all that often. This will be awesome all of my health care providers are on board with this surgery and I just feel like things are moving in place. So on Monday I am going to my very first support group meeting here locally. I really hope they are as welcoming as this online support group has been. I have learned so much on this site and have received so much support here as well that I only hope to receive it at live meeting. Then on Tuesday I am having the RF ablation done on my spine and will be down for a few days but hopefully if it works right I will be pretty much pain free after that. Looking forward to that. I have been inspired and all of my health care providers have been impressed with how much I know and how energized I seem to be concerning this surgery. They are really impressed that I have stressed that I know that this is only a tool but a tool that I need to help me become healthy again. Then on the 11th I turn 40 crazy that I am going to be that age. Just feels like last year I was 30 but then again my body and health make me feel like I am 60 or more. I am so ready for this. I know that there will be stumbling blocks and that I am not guaranteed a smooth ride but I am really ready for it warts and all. On the 13th my husband and I are driving the two hours to a seminar and getting all the paperwork filled out. I have been told it takes about two weeks after that to get an appointment with the surgeon and then its just a matter of full-filling all the insurance requirements. Once those are met then I can get a date and my life changes for the better. Today I bought a couple of books online that should be here around the 8th so I will have them before I go to the seminar. I just so can't wait. I intend to utilize my time before surgery learning as much as possible and that way I can be as prepared as possible for my life after surgery.
