ERIK ESTRADA is an Indiana cop, actor on the side//balance is the key to success//books

"If you didn't see it with your own eyes and hear it with your own ears ... don't invent it with your small mind and share it with your big mouth ..."

Dangerous Instincts: How Gut Feelings Betray Us."

She says the book is about how to read people more effectively. "You know not to get on an elevator if somebody in there looks like Charles Manson, but people who subtly come into your life or your children's life.   People that seem charming -  are outgoing, and you're thinking, 'Gosh, you're the greatest thing' until that person turns on you."

For people looking for success in life, "find positive people to give you realistic feedback, especially in fields where you are a minority.

"Never depend on negative people to predict what the rest of your life will be."  Negative people will place their own failures ONTO you.  What negative people say really has NOTHING to do with you and they will bully you if given the chance."  nowadays they call people like that "downers," stay away from them.
Vogue Australia editor-in-chief Kirstie Clements unexpectedly fired last year, was offered a book deal to tell a story about her life the day after being fired.   She's calling it:  “The Vogue Factor,” a memoir. The theme of the book is attaining balance in your life.    How she balanced her demanding editor-in-chief role with raising her sons. “Life is all about/a series of balances and changes.    Sometimes you’re the best mum in the world sometimes you’re not.    Don’t beat yourself up.”    Also, “I was lucky enough to have a house-husband, who was also a good parent.”
Erik Estrada has pretty much done it all. After getting his break in a Christian film, "The Cross and the Switchblade," that starred Pat Boone, he went on to become chick magnet Frank "Ponch" Poncherello on motorcycle-cop drama "CHiPs." Since then, he's done everything from telenovelas to reality TV ("The Surreal Life") to guest shots on everything from "My Name Is Earl" to "Sabrina the Teenage Witch." After becoming a genuine police officer in Indiana some years ago, he's focused more on law enforcement, and stopping Internet predators in particular -- but on occasion, Estrada still takes on an acting project.
His next one, "Chupacabra vs. the Alamo," hits the Syfy Channel on March 23. As DEA agent Carlos Seguin, Estrada must face off against a murderous pack of chupacabras -- the mythical "goat-suckers" who drain animals (and sometimes humans) of their blood -- while holed up in the Alamo, where his legendary ancestor Juan Seguin fought with distinction.

it is POURING rain outside. lightening and thundering! did NOTHING of significance this weekend. went to the church sale and got a couple of books. a florida cook book for k and 3 chicken soup books for me, one on horses, one on christianity and one about entrepreneurs.

went to the marina briefly last night and went through paperwork at the house down south. washed the car. big waste now, but the pollen ruins it anyway. the pollen actually STAINS the paint. the pollen is so bad this year that even some of the animals are sick from it.

Thanks again for this informative journal. No rain but the clouds are pouring in and the humidity is super high. We have the pollen problem and all the farmers with their sprayers going too. No Way to keep a car clean.
