ER was a success, not waiting to see how many fertilize

Hello ladies,
After literally spending the WHOLE day sleeping and resting after my egg retrieval this morning, I figure I should get on here and let ya'll know the scoop! First I really want to thank all of you that eased my mind about the RE and that have been giving me so much advice and encouragement. I normally would have been a nervous wreck going to the RE today, but all the advice and cheering me on gave me a sense of calm and I knew things would go okay.
DH and I got there at 6am, meaning I was up at 4:30 am, talk about exhausted. The nurse was super nice and told me that I'm in great hands, once my doctor came into the room and greeted me, I felt way better. He even joked and said "Don't worry Kristina, I read on how to do this this morning"...haha...he relaxed me after that. After that, I don't remember anything, he drugged me up and I was out.
I woke up to the good news that they extracted 11 eggs so I'm hoping this is one of those situations where it's about quality and not quantity. He said I did a great job.  I had some bleeding and my uterus literally feels like it's been turned inside out, it even hurts when I laugh but I'm glad it's over. My plans for the rest of the weekend is to rest and just let the DH spoil me. My mom even came over to make dinner tonight, I'm a lucky girl.
I have a bridal shower tomorrow that I'm hosting with four other gals but I'm really not sure if I'm going to be up to it. Everyone is pretty understanding because I had NO idea that the RE would land today. So I guess I will see how I feel. Just don't know if walking around, talking to people and seeing some that I really don't like is appealing to me right now. So we'll see how I feel. Although it would suck to not go to something that I put in more than $200 for....
So now I'm a bit nervous to get the call from the doc tomorrow to find out how many fertilized and then of course how many we will have to transfer and if there are any to freeze. This waiting can drive someone crazy. But I do keep telling myself that I've done everything I can do to this point and my body responded well. Wish me luck ladies that I have a healthy embryo to transfer.
Thanks for reading my update, hopefully I'll have some good news tomorrow.
Kristina

Congrats on a great ER! Hoping you get a good fert report (I am betting you will with 11 eggs, that\'s a fantastic number). I\'m sure you are so relieved that the anticipation of all of this is over. Rest up and enjoy all that spoiling. xo

Yay great to hear, best of luck with good results. I didn\'t catch up on old journals, are they thinking a fresh transfer? I went to work the day after my egg retrieval, everyone is different, but as long as you aren\'t lifting presents and feel okay, you\'ll be fine.

Just take it easy this weekend. Rest, stay in bed, and drink Gatorade. Sounds like things went awesome. 11 is great! You beat my 9. I remember waiting for the fert call. It\'s torture. Fingers crossed for you. Xoxo
