ER might be on Sunday now :(
I'm soooo upset - just heard from RE - I'm apparantly in the 2% of cases where the trigger didn't work - no LH surge so I have to do a shot of ovidrel tonight, go back first thing tomorrow to RE for blood/sono and possible retrieval, but most likely I will have to go back Sunday morning first thing for ER. And since its last minute, I have to go totally out of my way to a pharmacy to get the shot. Well, there goes my weekend. IF SUCKS THE LIFE OUT OF US and is so freaking unfair. I know I am whining, but I'm cranky and annoyed about this.

Oh, and one more thing: anyone have any advice? I have not done any shots and I\'m a little freaked out!!! DH will do it, but still....
I\'m so sorry! I would be really upset too. This will pass....keep your chin up.
FYI call the pharmacy ahead...my pharmacy doesn\'t keep ovidrel on hand and they have to order it in. I\'ve done Ovidrel for every one of my cycles, it looks worse than it is. My advice is pinch hard, and put an ice pack on the area about 5 min before to numb the skin. Easy peasy. My first time I layed down and had my mom who\'s a nurse give it to me...i\'ve done the rest. Keep in mind this is a MINOR set back, and you are still on your way!
Thanks! Nellysgirl, my clinic called a pharmacy that carries it since mine doesn\'t. Now I have to go out of my way to some other pharmacy to get it. I\'m going to have DH do the shot. And here I thought I dodged the shot stim bullet!! Aaargh...
Oh I\'m so sorry. At least your clinic found out so all those perfect eggs aren\'t lost. I agree with Nelly freeze the area. I have DH give me all my shots. The suck but it just takes seconds. It will be worth it when you get your BFP in two weeks.
Thinking of you.
My suggestion on the shot would be to watch a video online, my pharmacy is Village Fertility Pharmacy and they have wonderful how to videos. The website is www.villagefertilitypharmacy.com if that helps you. Best of luck, sorry the first one did not work!
Giving yourself a shot isn\'t as bad as it seems. The anticipation is actually worse than the shot. I am sure you will do great. I can\'t wait to hear your numbers after retrieval. Hang in there
Hopecul the trigger is very easy....just a pinch about an inch south and to the side of your navel. Hope all goes well!
The shot is over and done very quickly. I agree with Roxy - the cycle is still saved, so that\'s a huge positive. When I read your first line, I thought you were going to say they scrapped the whole thing. But it\'s still on! Just a blip! I hope for a great report next week!
Thanks, everyone. I think I\'ve sorta gotten over the shot part, more of my concern now is the timing of this since I was supposed to do this tomorrow and I\'m worried about losing the number of follies I have! Ugh, its amazing that I\'m in the very small minority that the trigger didn\'t work.....damn IF....
I\'m sorry about the change.....Its only a day, but I know you were all set and ready and the change is frustrating. On the bright side, maybe another egg or two will have time to mature. Ovidrel shots are bad at all. I give them to myself and the first time, my mom did it (lol) and I did\'n\'t even realize she gave me the shot b/c it was painless. Or I have a lot of padding...hmm... Anyway, I would use the website Andi posted or do a search on YouTube. Good luck!!!
You can do this---you are so close and almost there. It\'s nothing, I promise, barely a poke. So glad they checked and caught this to prevent complications with the ER. I think it sounds like a well watched cycle for you and am hoping that this is all you need to do!!
Thanks again!!! You have all given me so much support and hope and wonderful insights. I swear, I could not have done this without you all. I updated my journal with another entry - the shot was not at all as bad as I thought - barely a poke as qbfan said and the anticipation was worse as alana said. Now let\'s just hope it worked and I get some embies!!!
