Enjoying a good time
Im enjoying having a break from work. I have several more days to go but dont have any particular plans. Except to go to see my old school friend who has been having a fight against cancer. I like her very much indeed, so hope for the best of course. Think they caught it early and have been giving chemo. I bet she flies through it.
Want to tidy up our garden a bit for winter. we have 3 little planters that have never flourished. Think I might put succulents in them-I love the shapely forms. And the drying out and getting wet might be easier for them to cope with.
I am still having a lack of weight loss. Just seems to be stuck at around 149 pounds. Not sure why its not slipping off. I dont eat huge amounts as far as I am aware-and not much in the way of fast food or chocolate etc. But it just hovers around 68 to 70 kilos.
I am reading my kindle lots and Alyson at work has lent me the Hare with Amber Eyes, which im looking forward to reading.
I am the promoter of the IDC Ideas jam at work. Only one suggestion from our team has been posted so far-by me, as it happens!
Work is OK as we do the Income Survey. Most people are cooperative and its OK.
My bipolar-if I even have it-still not sure-is in remission at the moment-not too far up- and not too far down. Life with ivan is really good for me. he is so kind and takes as good care of me as he does of Arnie- he is a Cancerian- so is nurturing to the max.
The peaceful lifestyle here is so much healthier for me than life with Bryan was-so unpredictable he was and temperamental and argumentative.
I thrive on aregular routine-even if it can seem rather blah and boring as each week follows a pattern. But I am glad to be stable within the predictability, and we do do nice things-walks on the beach, at the Cemetery, opshopping, Lisa from Mind and body visiting. Reading, coffee. nice lunches that Ivan makes me, exercising and walking. Daily Strength, Facebook, news online.
Had a cortisone injection yesterday-not working as yet, for shoulder bursitis ive had for 3 months.
No more news. Just enjoy feeling calm and peaceful while it lasts.

Hey D - what a nice journal! You sound peaceful and happy. I pray thanksgiving that you and Ivan found each other. How nice that he takes such great care of you and Arnie.
I hope you had a successful visit with your friend who is fighting cancer. It must mean a lot to her that you visited. Let\'s hope her chemo is quick and effective. Isn\'t it nice to have an old school friend?
You may be discouraged about your weight loss, but you are making progress. Losing 3 pounds in a month and a half is an accomplishment. I understand your disappointment that it\'s not coming off faster. It\'s hard when you can\'t identify the cause of the weight gain. For me, as I age, my metabolism is getting worse. You have given up your favorite bad foods: nuts and cranberry snacks. I\'ve heard that you don\'t see any improvement on the scale until you\'ve made the dietary change for at least one month. Have you tried cutting out *all* eating in between meals? Great job on the morning walks!
I understand what you wrote about sometimes feeling blah about structure in my life. Sometimes I miss the old days when I went on vacations, out to bars each Friday night, and out to eat at different ethnic restaurants each week. I miss having a best girlfriend who had the same ideas of fun as me. Problem is, I have no money now. I didn\'t then, either, but weren\'t credit cards fun? The thing is, now that I have serious bipolar, structure is probably the best for me. Too much stimulation and I\'ll start getting into trouble again. And, at least I have Neal. We get along well. It\'s just not the same as a best girlfriend. However, if I had to choose I would pick the husband over a best friend.
Your job is going well. What a rewarding thing that must be.
How thoughtful of Ivan to get you a kindle. You are such a reader. I love it when people put thought into gifts, rather than just giving what they would like.
I\'m so happy you\'re doing well, my friend!
