End of this Chapter.
Yo.
We all ran the 5k on Saturday, and I beat last year's time by 1 lousy stinking minute. All that extra training, what was it worth?
We all beat last year's time. My daughter, well, she beat me by a whole minute this time. Last year, I beat her by ten. I can't help, despite my jealousy, to be proud of her.
I am proud of my boy, too. When he crossed the finish he looked like he had given it all. that's really all I ask.
DW finished injury free. What more can I say? I am not really jealous of my daughter. But I did expect to do a little better than I had and I did not pace myself very well.
And that is that. I hereby close this chapter in my life. We probably will not run this race next year. DW wants to try doing the big one, the one in the city, next year. Son says no more races for him. Daughter, well, she is up for anything.
Nosebleeds are out of control. Very frustrating. Today it seems a bit better, but am going to call the doc anyway to see if he had expected this or if something has gone wrong.
So what is the next chapter in my b00k of life? I haven't really decided yet. Today there is a calm in my head, despite the fact that I have a new task at work dealing with some rather unknowlegable folks at NASA. That is stressing me out. They are our bread & butter here at work, and now I get to try to work with them. Me no likey. I got thrown into a situation and I have to make a snap decision without knowing what the hell I am dealing with.
Isn't that fun?
But anyway, now that I am not running, add that with the fact that I was not losing weight like i had hoped when I was running, I think I had better watch my diet. I have that and the chairs I am refinishing ( I am working on chair #2 which I hope to stain this week), chair #1 has come out satisfactory. This one (#2) has glue and crap on it from old repairs. It's taking some time.
I am feeling rather good, though. Not necessarily from the race, but things that happened this weekend that would normally torment my brane, aren't. Yesterday I was clearing out some brush and I got whacked in the head hard enough to make me sit for a spell. No concussion though, but I look like I got into a car crash or something.
okay, point is that there is no new chapter, no new adventure.
Yet.
I'll stop rambling about it. Seems like a senseless entry, really.
Ciao.

Hey - you wrote two things that make me really happy; that you\'re feeling good and that you\'re experiencing calm. FAB! May the NASA folk not bring too much hassle. My cousin talks about other people\'s hassle as \'giraffe fart\' - i.e. let it go right over the head. It\'s a lovely image :)
May whatever challenges come your way not torment your brain.
Go well my friend x
