Encounter with a stranger.

Encounter with an acquaintance: I ran into the grandmother of one of my childcare children. For a couple of moments there I wanted to run and hide but I didnot. I looked at her and I realized that she was safe, she just wanted to spend a few minutes  talking to me about things of a general nature. I could certainly handle that. So I relaxed and I listened to what she had to say and I tried to respond appropriately, share some related stories from my own life. I asked questions related to what she had said, responded as best I could and listened to her comments. She got off the bus a  couple of stops later she smiled and waved goodbye I did the same. I was happy that I decided not to hide. with peace and friendship to all.

That is great that you did well with this encounter. I don\'t like running into acquaintenances either. I never know what to say, I feel I have to say something even though I do not know the person, yet I know them because we go to the same place. You did a good job and know how you feel. I hope you have a good evening.

You\'re doing great! In fact you\'re doing better than a lot of people who may have just blown her off out of selfishness. You\'re telling people that you care, and that will come back to you by ten folds! Peace to you. Oli

Good for you,I know how you feel sometimes when I see people I have not seen in along time I feel the same way. Depending on the day sometimes I speak and sometimes I try to ignore the meeting. Don\'t be so hard on yourself go with the flow. Tammy

You did really well Ida! Good for you for staying and talking to her and not running away. I know that feeling of panic when running into someone you know on the street. I used to and still do sometimes try to avoid people I know when I see them out in public-I am getting better and making myself stop and talk to them, but I still have had a few times when I try to avoid dealing with them. Oh well. We both just have to keep trying.:0)
